Unbelievable…
CHICAGO — Two women used the online classified site Craigslist to offer sex with girls in exchange for “donations” or “roses” — code words for money, police said.
Tamara Cotton, 25, and Christina Holt, 19, were arrested separately and were not working together, Cook County Sheriff’s officials said Thursday.
Cotton was arrested Dec. 31 when an undercover officer arrived at her apartment and a 16-year-old girl offered to perform a sex act for $200, according to the sheriff’s department.
While out on bond, Cotton was arrested again on Jan. 5 when she allegedly drove another girl to meet an undercover officer who had arranged a sexual encounter. Cotton was charged with pimping and related offenses.
Police arrested Holt on Monday and charged her with keeping a house of prostitution for allegedly arranging a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl.
The three minors arrested were not taken into custody, sheriff’s spokeswoman Sally Daly said.
“We’ve considered them to be more the victims in this case, given the fact that they were being pimped by adults,” Daly said.

What?
The liberal media didn’t make reference to one of it’s favorite meme’s about someone repeating the same behaviors with failed results, or some such thing, that they always use to describe the Bush administrations approach to Iraq…before they say cut and run.
Henh…cut and run. Perhaps that is what these two pimp wannabees should have done after getting popped the first time.
Where the hell have you been? This is NOT news — it’s been going on for over 7 years.
Here’s the real story… the media is losing money, BIG TIME, because Craigslist is slowly running them out of the classified ads business. THAT is why you are seeing stories all across the country that depict CL erotic services ads as some kind of trendy new cyber crime. It’s called a ’smear campaign’. It’s not about news, it’s about silencing a competitor.
And you just bought it — hook, line and sinker.
I don’t know what to say. I feel so…..used. Heh
I’m not quite sure where the smear was located. It sounds to me like the people actually did commit an illegal act; i.e. pimping minors.
There are busts for pimping underage girls ALL THE TIME. It has all of the newsworthiness of a dead cat in the road. But when they can tie it to Craigslist, all of a sudden it turns into front page news.
Why? Because Craigslist is eating their lunch in the classified ads business space. They can’t compete, because they can’t undersell ‘free’. And they can’t give instant turnaround, which Craigslist can offer because they are web-based. Consequently, they are losing revenue, big time.
Now, word is that Craigslist will soon be purchased by eBay. Once that happens, print classifieds in daily newspapers will quickly become an article of history. The daily newspapers will be DONE. Depending on the paper, somewhere between 20 and 60 percent of their revenue stream is about to dry up.
So, what can they do about this? Not much, in terms of competing on an equal footing. But, what they can do is try to make things as warm as possible for Craigslist. Especially if they can get eBay to sour on the deal.
You hear it all the time — news is a business. Don’t you believe for a second that business considerations don’t have an effect on editorial decisions.
