CREW takes down DiFi thread — updated and moved to the top

CREW: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington uses high-impact legal actions to target government officials who sacrifice the common good to special interests, or, so states the website’s self-description.

After leading the charge along with the NYT against Mark Foley (R-FL), it must have come as quite a shock to the radical left to see a popular Democrat come into CREW’s cross-hairs in a January 25 expose of the Feinstein – MILCON scandal. Still, CREW stood by their story, which was linked or referenced by scores of conservative websites.

difi.jpgSo what changed? It’s not like anyone really believed that the Soros-funded “CREW” was anything but a partisan hit site. Maybe it’s a testament to the Digg Effect. Four days after the CREW article was posted on Digg, and some 900 diggs, the thread disappeared. Only Melanie Sloan knows for sure. Perhaps Sloan, a Democrat activist lawyer, decided that being true to her Democrat roots is more important than the high-minded mission statement of supporting ethics in government.

Here is the Google cache of the original story.

How long will the MSM continue to ignore this important story? As long as they can, of course.

As usual, the New Media is taking point: Nuke’s bookmarks on the DiFi mess…….

It’s gone, Jim…

Yup, it’s gone. It never existed. Melanie Sloan has some explaining to do.

  1. We really know why it came down. The donks put pressure on someone…

  2. You answered your own question, of course.
The LameStream media is in complete lockstep, as ususal, with the leftard movement in this country.
As for Melanie, and her involvement with CREW, that’s not what Georgie Boy is paying for. The meme is only Republicans are corrupt, and never Dhimmicrats, and eventhough that is never the reality, as long as they can report or not report what is happening, they can shape public opinion with those who only get snapshots of news each day.
No, Georgie Boy wants the complete and total destruction of the American way of life. That Melanie tried to act with integrity and principle, based on their mission statement is admirable, to a point. Were she to resign her position their, over the aggregious requirement that CREW abandon their alleged principles, she would be much more admirable.
I was surprised by the statement she made the other day, about DiFi’s corruption being on an order of magnitude greater than anything the Republicans had done. I don’t think we will be hearing those words from her again, as long as she is cashing the checks with Georgie Boy’s signature on them.

  3. Here’s another great example of how the LameStream refuses to inform the public about the realities of life in America.
The headline in the NYSlimes the other day, was job growth was the slowest in the last quarter in several years. What they didn’t mention was that unemployment was down to 4.4%, basically a statistical impossibility, which means fewer are unemployed, so fewer were hired. You can prove anything with rhetoric.
In case you missed what has been accomplished with our economy under the Bush administration, here’s an excellent story from IBD.

George W. Bush’s economic miracle is both real and sustainable. Too bad he won’t get credit for it until the current generation of biased journalists and academics has retired.

  4. Emmmhmmmmm. No one was flying, staying at hotels, buying vehicles, buying houses, buying big ticket items, eating out…. How can it be that there are those so short-memoried that they forget what life was like a mere six years ago?

  5. I remember the Clinton recession, long before it was decided W would be the GOP candidate. As W was running for office, he was talking about the Clinton recession, and the same leftard press was screeching that W was going to “talk us into” a recession.
They didn’t even mention the suckie economy until after W was elected. I thought then, the LameStreams were not reporting it, so it wouldn’t harm the chances of algore.
I most certainly remember the effect on the economy after 9-11, as it basically shut me down, and I remember the reaction on Wall Street, the first day it reopened after 9-11, as I and some friends watched, and groaned as the sell-off began. We didn’t watch it for very long, it was too upsetting. But W, through his force of will, and calm leadership, directed us through those rough first months of his first term, and we have thrived since.
The LameStreams won’t report it though, it would not be in their ideological best interest…nation be damned.

  6. Yeah, we had to shut down our two businesses, but it certainly wasn’t W’s fault, and it would have been much, much worse as you say without his leadership.

  7. Housing was already sliding before W took office.

  8. I met business expenses for about four months, and was glad to do that.
Lived on savings for about six months, which really pithed me off, as I was about to make a down payment on a new car and bike, with the commensurate payments and insurance. I mean it, the monday of the 10th, I walked away from a deal on a car, as I thought I could do better, eventhough I really had the Jones for that car. Then the next morning…whew!

  9. Nuke, on thinking about that google cache you have linked, it might be a very good idea to take a screenshot, or a word document of it. Knowing how the leftards operate, and google is certainly in their camp, I wouldn’t be surprised if that cache disappeared, one dark and stormy night.

  10. Talk about a lucky escape, N2L! I just walked into the house and was discussing the ramifications of 9/11 with SwampMan. All in all, he’s happy with the way his life has changed; I’m the one that still hasn’t found my way.

  11. you really think google can be bought?

  12. Nuke, are you talking about Google, the same company that is actively cooperating with the Chinese government to censor the web?

  13. #10-Please don’t call me N2L, I am not Newton’s Second Law. Or N2l, I am not the band None 2 Lose, I am n2l, for no2liberals.
Oh, and go forth with a lantern, and find thy way.
    #11-Being facetious, right?

  14. None 2 loose? Nose 2 long? Nice 2 lemmings? Maybe I jus’ better call you by your full name.

  15. As for pre-Clinton recession, I was making a comfortable six figure income.
During the Clinton recession, was still making six figures, but not as comfortably, but it was okay, because I realized I didn’t have time to enjoy my rewards working so much.
Post 9-11, I haven’t been making six figures since, the entire business climate has changed, have lost a lot of clients, and have had a number of personal matters in the last few years that detracted from work. I haven’t advertised in twelve years, as I have relied on existing clients and referrals, and haven’t had any business cards printed in…I don’t know how long. I need to get back to doing some of those things again, but I know now what will happen when I do, and free time, and cooking good meals, like the last two nights, at home, will come to an end.

  16. Okay, now Swampie, you’re being over sensitive. n2l is fine, just not N2L.
/just don’t call me late for supper

  17. It’s funny, but true.
Conservatives always have the babes. Publius Pundit has a good story with lots of pictures of Sarkozy babes.

  18. Oh, and the report that the age divide between young and old, versus the two candidates, either isn’t true, or is true in reverse of what we were told.
Lots and lots of good looking young people, no hippies, in the streets supporting Sarkozy. Now, of we can just Sarkozy to learn a few facts about gorebal warming, and we’ll be good to go.

  19. Okay, n2l, but it seems disrespectful not capitalizing your “name”.

    /Always respectful to elders.

  20. sounds like we’re in the same type of business n2l, and yes, #11 was untagged

  21. Gotta call it a nite, long weekend with the grands, mucho fun, but I’m plumb wore out.

  22. What business is that, Nuke? Wedding Planners/Getaway Car Drivers? Escort service? Bodyguards? Funeral directors? Recreational pharmaceutical reps?

  23. #19-Considering that N2L is defined thusly:

The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
    Fnet = m * a

    No disrespect is conveyed.
#20-You have stated your general business activity, I have not, but it isn’t the same, though directly involved with people in your area, as well as a number of other areas.

  24. Don’t remind me! My lil’ guy will be making an extended visit here starting next weekend while mommy is in the hospital, and mommy is afraid that he will not want to come back home. I am afraid that he will cry himself to sleep wanting mommy every night.

  25. Hold the danged phone!!!
    Nuke has grands?
    Whoodathunk?

  26. I could tell you, but then it wouldn’t be safe for you

  27. Well, just strap on a helmet and head-butt some rams, so the little guy will laugh himself to sleep each night.

  28. Sigh. A relative of SwampMan who used to be in MI is in civilian life now as an agrarian equipment supply rep. Funny how that agrarian equipment supply rep is always spending months at a time in countries where there is or is about to be a feces/oscillating cooling device interaction.

  29. That was whoodathunk, as opposed to Hoobastank.

  30. Well, whirling shiite storms have cycles too.

  31. heh. yup, two precious redheaded grandaughters who think granpaw is pretty cool.
    Nite y’all
    no disrespect taken

  32. I have a feeling that he is not going to want to stay in his bed alone without the comfort of an adult who does not engage in scary-sounding snoring.

  33. Heh. And have they developed the famous temper tantrums yet that redheads are reknowned for?

/A totally uncalled for reputation, of course.

  34. Night nuke.
Glad you got to hang with those precious young’uns.

I guess you pretty much simplified his sleeping arrangements, Swampie.

  35. Nite, Nuke. Hope you celebrated International No Diet Day today in a fitting manner.

/I ate pasta. And enjoyed every bite.

  36. Guess I better start heading towards the bunk too. The rice and gravy has stopped expanding, and digestion is proceeding nicely. Sure was good with that roast, carrots, and taters.
    Hmmm…still have some brownies.
    /nah

  37. Henh, had pasta last night, with handsquozed meatballs and sauce.

  38. I tried to talk SwampMan into another child a few years ago, but SwampMan was NOT enthusiastic. At all. And I can generally talk him into most things.

  39. Brownies! (sob) I cannot remember when I had brownies last.

Maybe I should expand that no diet day to no diet year. No, no, I should not.

  40. You tried to…talk him into another child???
    Uhhh…Swampie, talking don’t Git-R-Done.
    /thought you knew

    Night.

  41. I suppose, since the exercising alone has not budged my weight by so much as one single pound, I will have to drastically cut back on the diet.

/I am not looking forward to having a portion of a grilled chicken breast and a lettuce leaf. Not at all.

  42. Nope, SwampMan got “fixed” years ago so no more surprises.

  43. Goodnight. Here’s one to think about if you are dependent on any medications that may be manufactured with ingredients from China: Toxic medicine in Panama linked to China or caveat emptor (and test the dang ingredients at an independent laboratory, ‘k?)
