LAS VEGAS, Oct. 1 (UPI) — A Las Vegas man faces up to five years in prison and $750,000 in fines for attempting to sell poisonous snakes over the Internet.
Cody Brett Bartolini, 21, has pleaded not guilty in federal court to three felony counts of attempted unlawful sale of wildlife, The Las Vegas Journal-Review reported Monday.
Bartolini was arrested Friday after an investigation revealed he had been offering venomous snakes for sale or trade from his home in Las Vegas for three years.
When U.S. Fish and Wildlife agents raided his house they found 48 snakes of various species, a caiman, a Gila monster and an alligator snapping turtle, prosecutors told the newspaper.
Among the snakes Bartolini is charged with attempting to sell are seven green mambas, two forest cobras, one black-necked spitting cobra, two Great Basin rattlesnakes, a Mohave sidewinder rattlesnake and a southwestern speckled rattlesnake. source
This isn’t the same guy that put the snake in his mouth and got bitten. But, he ain’t much brighter.
