Rove Weather Machine?

rove2.jpgSeattle: Helicopters and hovercraft were pressed into rescue service as Gov. Chris Gregoire declared a state of emergency Monday for 18 counties, authorizing mobilization of the National Guard and directing the state Emergency Management Division to coordinate assistance after more than six inches of rain fell in 24 hours in some areas.

(State College, PA) – Heavy rain and flooding in the Pacific Northwest continue today as voters head to the polls. Election Day began with rain moving through the Southeast and dry weather in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; however, showers will arrive before the polls

A storm system moving across the Southeast is being fed by moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. Rain has been falling from Georgia to the Carolinas; however, the Severe Weather Center reports the potential for severe weather will be limited today. There is enough instability for the development of thunderstorms from southern Georgia into Florida.

The showers and thunderstorms across Alabama will wind down by this afternoon as the storm system leaves the state. As the system heads to the northeast tonight, a few thunderstorms will rumble along the coast in Carolina and Georgia and across the Florida Peninsula.

Farther north, rain from this system will result in a wet Election Day across Indiana and Ohio, as well as Lower Michigan. Showers will move into the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic States later this afternoon and a steadier rain will develop tonight.

  1. ah ty for the link!…great to see how many pple already got out there to let
    their voice be heard Nuke!..:)

  2. Yes it is. I’m looking forward to watching the returns come in tonite. Should be full of surprises.

  3. The one I’ve worked hardest on was the limitation on eminent domain. Hope tht passes.

  4. Request acknowledged.

  5. *snif*
My post with my requests got eaten.

  6. Well…..maybe it was the request.

  7. I thought I posted it earlier, but maybe didn’t. I drove by the local polls in the rain today. There were a lot of people standing in the rain waving campaign signs for the candidate of their choice and waving enthusiastically at passers by. They were all Republicans. Either Democrats don’t do rain, or they’ve given up this area as a lost cause. (And oddly enough, all the elected county officials are now Republican and 10 years ago, there weren’t enough Republicans running to make it worthwhile to even be a Republican to vote in the primaries.)

  8. Things have changed.
My home town had never voted Republican, indeed the entire county, at least as far as any knows. Since ‘reconstruction’, after the War Of Northern Aggression, the thought of being a Republican was socially unacceptable…until ’04. My old friends, that are still hardcore legacy Democrats, couldn’t and still can’t, believe it.

  9. Yep. Same here. Now “Democrat” and “Raving Lunatic” are widely regarded as synonyms.

  10. When is it bad weather why do people get insane???
I have noticed , that anytime it rains, or there is a freeze, the public panics, rushes out to the stores and buy up all the
bottled water, batteries, flash lights, firelogs, and canned food. Why is this. You would think people that have been through
this kinda weather before would understand that it will not last more than a day or two at the most.
Another thing I have noticed is when it rains that all the dumb people again get on the roads and cause wrecks and everything
What is wrong with the people? I would really like to know.
