A Skeptic’s Guide to Debunking Global Warming Alarmism.

Here’s an article from a great wordpress blog that has caught my attention recently.

The outgoing Chairman of Environment & Public Works Committee, is pleased to announce the public release of the Senate Committee published booklet entitled “A Skeptic’s Guide to Debunking Global Warming Alarmism. Hot & Cold Media Spin Cycle: A Challenge To Journalists who Cover Global Warming.” The color glossy 64 page booklet — previously was only available in hardcopy to the media and policy makers — includes speeches, graphs, press releases and scientific articles refuting catastrophe climate fears presented by the media, the United Nations, Hollywood and former Vice President turned-foreign-lobbyist Al Gore.

Senator Inhofe’s “Skeptic’s Guide” also includes hard hitting critiques of the New York Times, Time Magazine, Newsweek, Associated Press, Reuters, the LA Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Washington Post.

Senator Inhofe has challenged the media in a series of speeches and hearings to stop the unfounded hype.

The American people are fed up with the media for promoting the idea that former Vice President Al Gore represents the scientific “consensus” that SUV’s and the modern American way of life have somehow created a ‘climate emergency’ that only United Nations bureaucrats and wealthy Hollywood liberals can solve,” Senator Inhofe said in October.

Skepticism that human C02 emissions are creating a “climate catastrophe” has grown in recent times. In September, renowned French geophysicists and Socialist Party member Claude Allegre, converted from a believer in manmade catastrophic global warming to a climate skeptic. This latest defector from the global warming camp caps a year in which numerous scientific studies have bolstered the claims of climate skeptics.

Scientific studies that debunk the dire predictions of human-caused global warming have continued to accumulate and many believe the new science is shattering the media-promoted scientific “consensus” on climate alarmism.

  1. Nuke, I am looking into this subject too. It’s worse. Al Gore is pressuring the National Association of Science Teachers to endorse his “docudrama” “An Inconvenient Truth.” This is a big story just coming out. See my blog.

  2. Hi Mick – Al Gore has been a ‘new age’ groopy for a while.

Conservative bloggers and citizen journalists should not let this one go. It needs to be interogated and debunked until the cows come home. I will update this later with a link to your blog.

  3. Al Gore probably needs an evaluation for orientation to person, place, and time by a competent mental health professional. On the other hand, it’s a pretty lucrative gig so maybe he isn’t totally anticapitalist.

  4. Love that swampwoman! As a former psychiatric nurse (oh yes it’s true) orientation to time place and person is a basic requirement for keeping in touch with (if not in step with) reality.

There is a lot of money being made on the back of this societal delusion. Give the customer what he wants I guess…

On that nould you like to be the first to subscribe to my Global Warming Weekly?

BTW when did ‘worldwide’ go ‘global’?

  5. Not only will I sign on, I will contribute articles!

Breaking News! Sheep fleece is .000000047 cm shorter than last year. Global warming is to blame!

Rainfall 12″ short this year. CLEARLY evidence of global warming. (Evidence would be my feelings on the matter, of course, although the rainfall is objectively measured and lacking due to that global warming inspired event known as El Nino that kept the hurricanes away.)

  6. You got the job. You really should go undercover and do a virtual Borat on the liberalagensia.

and El Nino would be good title for your secret identity.

  7. Shouldn’t that be Ill Nina?

  8. Too suble for me no2lberals.

  9. Yep, that’s our Swampie…subtle and inscrutable.

  10. As was discussed here the other day, this is the use of selected scientic results, for a political motive. It gives more control to the anticapitlist over our economy, and thus, our lives.
    I will not submit.

  11. I see you have taken to liking for Beethoven?

Someone said that after listening to a concert of Beethoven all they really wanted to do was invade Poland.

  12. The lovely, lovely Ludwig Van.
Not me, when I hear Beethoven, I want to round up the the Droogans, and go out for a little of the ultra-violence.

  13. Just as I thought you need to be re-educated. We have the methods a little more refined these days.

You think I’m joking? You want to live in Blairs Britain.

  14. Henh!
Which is worse…the violence or the cure?
No sir, think I will stay right here in good ol’Texas, where we teach our young’uns to ride well, shoot straight, and be truthful in all things.

  15. You mean, be truthful in all things except when talking to women.

  16. In all things…especially when talking to women.
/you can weed them out faster that way

  17. I beg to differ. Honesty will get you kicked in painful places.

  18. I hit back…and I’ve never been afraid of consequences when telling the truth.
/happily divorced for almost 33years now

  19. Uh huh. I have learned over the years that there are versions of truth, and there are truths that you don’t mention.

/Happily married for almost 30 and I enjoy the pedestal very much.

  20. I like women on a pedestal, as long as they are wearing a short skirt.

  21. Well, prepare your mind’s eye for the Krispy Kreme calendar girls.

  22. There ain’t a pedestal known to man, capable of holding those calender gals.
    I prefer lilliputians.

  23. Now, that’s something I didn’t want to see.

  24. Nice socks.

  25. I will say this. It is fine and dandy to debate back and forth about this topic. My question/concern is that there is truly no one out there that can really answer this question of is global warming happening, and more importantly what are the effects if it is. To me it is an experiment we as living organisms on the planet should be trying to avoid. Why tempt fate? If in fact the hippies are right the world could be in an irreversable dilemna within 100 years. 100 years in the life of the planet is like 1 heart beat in a human beings life.

If you live in any major city in North America you can literally see the results of burning fossil fuels, by looking to the smoggy sky. No matter if global warming is happening it is apparent that burning fossil fuel makes the air we breath less breathable. That alone should be reason to address this issue more seriously.

Human beings have a habit of destroying and/or depleting natural resources and then regretting it later. Case in point, the whale population over the last 500 years (5 heart beats of the planets life), the depletion of the Atlantic cod population, and the buffalo’s are just 3 examples I can think of. Fossil fuels are useful and important, but are not renewable and will run out one day.

  26. Well, actually ConCan, I do live in a major metro area, of about 5-6million people, and I haven’t seen a smog filled sky, but for a few times, and that was due to a major forest fire in Mexico, and the wind from the South blew it all the way up here.
I think it is the epitome of arrogance to think that man could change a global climate, we just aren’t that powerful in comparison to the natural elements here on earth or in the solar system.
Wait until later today, or tomorrow, when the latest solar flare effects start bombarding the earth with it’s electromagnetic shock waves, and electron shower, and your tv images get wiped out, as many satellites get fried, and even domestic power supplies and phone service are disrupted. Could man do that? Can man heat the earth as much as the sun?
Yeah, we all realize the energy sources we rely on are finite, but we should be working on that problem as a separate issue from the alarmists who actually only want to control the debate first, and then all of us later, by destroying vital industry and individual economic gain, through their governmental policies.
There is no consensus on global warming. Until, or unless, there is scientific and irrefutable proof, I will continue to believe the alarmist are actually looking out for their best interest, and not ours.
As for the destruction of the buffalo herds, that was due to overhunting initially, and then subsequently, to remove the primary source of life for the plains Indians, as it became government policy, and people were encouraged to eliminate them. Since that sad period of American history, the buffaloe are doing quite nicely, and I can take you to a number of restaurants in my area that offer buffaloe, and to some markets that offer their meat.

  27. I go in and out of the largest city in the state daily and have yet to see a smoggy sky.

  28. Grin, yeah, okay, when Florida was burning during the drought a couple of years ago, I couldn’t see the front yard.

  29. Convenient Fiction? Documentary Plans to Challenge Gore.

A critic of “global warming alarmism” began filming a documentary Thursday that seeks to rebut some of the claims former Vice President Al Gore made in his popular movie, “An Inconvenient Truth.”
“[Gore and others are] saying also that the debate should now be closed, that the science is set, that there are no important questions left open,” Hayward said. “People like me are sometimes now called ‘climate change deniers,’ with the non-too-subtle suggestion that we are the moral equivalent of Holocaust deniers.”

But Hayward pointed out that “nearly every scientific article you will read mentions uncertainty in what we know about the subject.”

  30. Beware of the elite politician who says “The debate on global warming is over.” What are Al Gore’s scientific credintials? He flunked out of Divinity school right?
