Take the Pledge

Yesterday General Petraeus testified that the Biden/Warner resolutions and those like them encourage the enemy.
What does it mean, “to encourage the enemy?”
It means that the enemy gathers will and strength from the prospect of a collapsing political will to seek victory in Iraq and stability in the region.
With that additional strength and will the enemy redoubles and retriples efforts to kill American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines.
In short, it means that more Americans will die.

If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the
enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution. >>LINK<<

  1. Somehow it seems that many of the Republicans have decided that their supporters have turned into Democrat defeatists.

  2. There is a definite cajones shortage in DC right now.
    /Like that’s a news flash

  3. Uh…don’t I get a happy dance?
    It’s the ‘foggy bottom’ fever.

  4. Well, I’m fixin’ to do some castrations, maybe I should send them a box of spare nuts.

  5. I will be checking on my reps too.
If any of them voted for this piece
o’ crap they can forget any backing
    from me.

  6. Being from California, we have no republicans in the senate. The Gov. is worse than a RINO, but better than the POS he replaced. We have the bitches from hell, that will not be replaced until they die, Boxer and Fienstien. If we could split the state in half, just above Sacramento, it would represent the values much better.

  7. Hey, that’s what we Floridians say (about splitting the state). Course, we’ve pretty much gone Republican here, and just had 2 terms of the Best. Governor. Ever. (JEB). Wish he’d reconsider that President thing.

  8. I take the pledge. Your site is breaking out! Nuke, I need some more advice from you. I wanna be famous too!

  9. Nuke, Swampie, No2Libs,

greetings from Vegas! things are looking good around here

be back in full swing next week, take care

  10. The resolution is a stupid mistake and LTG Petraeus is right to call them on encouraging the enemy. It seems our lawmakers just can’t accept that the U.S. is in a war, nor do they understand the weight of their own actions toward our success or failure and how long it takes to get there. Whether we support how we got into the war or not, the reality at this moment is that we are in it and the long term repercussions of losing would be enormous. Statements like this stupid resolution are the same as openly fighting against our soldiers and I’m glad there are at least a few voices such as Lieberman and McCain out there saying so and presenting Petraeus the opportunity to say so during the hearing.

  11. G’mornin Nuke…ty for the link and your slant on this…no shortage
of traitors and wimps in both parties eh?..didja hear what Kerry said?!..pftt!

  12. Mornin’ Angel. You’re quite welcome.
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I missed what the poseur said this time, before he changed his mind, again. 😆

  13. well said bugsngasgal, well said

  14. the cozzies in Vegas? Heh, I’m having images of Chevy Chase.
Robt D. — Boxer is a disgrace. But, my state has given us the illustrious Mr. Trent Lott, so, what can I say?
nbpundit–thanks for checking in. We’ve got to hold these bastids responsible.
Swamps–let’s start a write-in campaign. I think Jeb would be a strong candidate.
Mick — It’s tough being famous, you have to show your genitals in public.

I’ll bet this doesn’t get LameStream media interest.

  16. #15 apparently don’t get no attention.
    /I like it
