Al Gore (pbuh™) to run?

Al Gore (pbuh™), the prophet of climate change, is reportedly giving serious consideration to taking a major job demotion from Global Savior to POTUS, as the candidate for the Green Party.

“Al Gore has been energized by the attention he’s been receiving as America’s leading environmentalist,” a political source close to Gore said. “He believes this might present an opportunity to become president or at least try again.”

Sources close to Gore said Ralph Nader has sought to recruit the former vice president to run as the candidate for the Green Party. They said Gore has not rejected the offer and was consulting with family and friends to determine the feasibility of such a candidacy.

At this point, Gore stands behind Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama in any race for the Democratic presidential nomination. But the polls report that many Democrats who support Clinton could switch their support to Gore. source

The Clinton machine can’t be too happy with this development, so I wouldn’t be very surprised to see someone trying to sneak a snuke into this developing candidacy.

update:  California Yankee has the definitive answer from Gore:  It’s definitely maybe, but probably not.

    Snuk’em. Snuk’em High!

  2. I’ll bet more than just snukes get sent his way. His splitting the votes would be the end of HRT.

  3. A new one from Jib Jab.

    What We Call The News

  4. Wow! What a great idea! What this country really, truly needs is a high-profile Green Party Candidate, and Al Gore is that high-profile man. He’s got an Oscar, you know.

    Run, Al, Run! Gaia is depending on you! Think of the cuddly little polar bears and do the right thing.

  5. I hope he runs for the green party, it may help split the Dem vote.

    NC was fun. I really liked driving on the twisting mountain roads. It would have been even better on a scooter.

  6. The snuke sneak is on tonight on Comedy Central at 10 EST. SwampMan was totally bummed he missed it last night and is watching it tonight.

  7. Got Milk, I’m getting motion sickness just thinking about it. Or maybe it’s the BBQ.

  8. A few days ago I commented on the John Doe Act by saying CAIR was going to be PO’d. Well guess what?

    How does a “civil rights” group like CAIR know when Americans make false reports with the intent to discriminate? That’s easy. Any time someone urges an investigation of a Muslim, for whatever reason—DISCRIMINATION!. In the words of Dana Carvey as George Michael, It’s a formula, but it works.

    Scott at Powerline brings news of an interesting back and forth between CAIR and the Becket Fund. Here’s part of what CAIR writes.:

    I believe we can both agree that Americans do not have the right to make false reports with the intent to discriminate. It is a criminal offense that disturbs public order and creates unnecessary fear, suspicion and division in any society.

    Irony: Muslims at CAIR Complain About Those Disturbing Public Order

  9. Well, they’re free to go back to their places of origin and disturb public order just as much as they like and take the consequences.

  10. Hssssst, Got Milk! This is NOT about splitting the Democrat Vote, it is about welcoming the tree-loving Democrats and Republicans into a New World Order (wink wink).

    Now sing it! I love trees, trees love me, we’re a happy family….

  11. SwampMan is having a royal spastic rage at what the hell is the matter with the congress, constitutional separation of powers and the duties of each, and how the Democrats are hurting our country.

    SwampMan is apolitical. This is kinda weird.

  12. With a nick nack patty wack let the owls keep their home…

  13. SwampWoman,
    My older kid did start feeling car sick. I just hate using the brakes going around curves so maybe that is why.

  14. Heh. SwampMan was having a great ol’ time in those hills years ago despite my warnings about the kids in the backseat, and daughter said “I have to throw up!” I told SwampMan to stop the car now, and he said there is no room. I grabbed a pillow and tossed it back to her just in time for her to upchuck the contents of her stomach for at least the past week all over the pillow but *mostly* inside the pillowcase. Glad it wasn’t my truck.

  15. many Democrats who support Clinton could switch their support to Gore

    except for some of the female voters under 50.

  16. wshewwww, just finished cutting the grass and getting cleaned up a bit. 2nd time already on the yard. spring is sprung, and the pollen is thiiiiiiick

  17. Working on that yard a little late there nuke. Finished mine about 4 hours ago. 😉

    Here’s something to help you relax. I finally found the best video of W’s speech last night to the press. Enjoy…

    Bush Breaks ’em All Up

  18. that was funny. thanks Robo

  19. You’re welcome.. 😆

  20. This scenerio is highly implausible for several reasons:

    1) A third-party candidate in 2000 was at least partly responsible for making the election close enough in Florida that the Reps. were able to steal it;

    2)Gore knows that, were he to run as a third-party candidate, he’d likely be a spoiler (as Nader was) and throw the race to the Rep. candidate, as happened in 2000;

    3)Gore is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat;

    4)If Gore could beat Hillary as a third-party candidate, why couldn’t he beat her as a Democrat?

    5)Gore doesn’t buy into the Green fairy tale that there’s no difference between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party;

    6)And finally, running as a third-party candidate, Gore would almost certainly lose, which I’m quite sure is a risk he’s not willing to take.

  21. All good points brewski. And also, he doesn’t want to be found in the park like Vince Foster.

  22. I can’t imagine gore(pbuh™) wanting to take the demotion from global savior.
    But, stranger things have happened. I think it’s more likely that he will be the last dem standing, as Obama’s lack of gravitas causes many of his worshippers on the left to have second thoughts. Add to that, Hillary’s upcoming civil suit (Paul v Clinton), and she is likely to be dragged through the mud in an attempt to hold her accountable.

  23. Ah, yes, the Ft. Marcy Park disposal crew.

  24. It just keeps getting better. Civil Right Leader Jesse Jackson Endorses White House Bid of Sen. Barack Obama. Who is this good for? Could be bad for either HRT or Obama…

    Jesse makes a choice

  25. Here is the pdf for the lawsuit against the snizsnuke

  26. Met the grandson and daughter for lunch today; I did not have time for it/not in my schedule but the grandson got up and put his socks and shoes on over his jammie feet so he could go to MeeMaw’s house and he even refused to eat breakfast because he wanted pancakes at MeeMaw’s house, so how could I not see him for at least a little while? While at the restaurant, he informed me that “I bite mommy arm, got powpow on bottom.” I said “And what did you learn from that?” He thought for a minute, and said “Meemaw bite mommy on arm. Bite arm now!” Heh. Meemawasaurus Rex.

  27. I really hope Algore runs and screws everything up for Lord of the Thighs and the Manchurian Candidate.

  28. Bwahahaha,good characterizations!

    Everybody keeps forgetting Bill Richardson.

  29. 1) A third-party candidate in 2000 was at least partly responsible for making the election close enough in Florida that the Reps. were able to steal it;

    What total BS. While it is true Nader took some votes away from Gore, the vote in Florida would have been close anyway. Had Gore not tried to steal the election, as clearly indicated in Willian Kristol’s book “At Any Cost,” we could have had a total recount of all votes in Florida, and not algores cherry-picking just the precincts that favored him, to try and get just enough votes, which is what all of the litigation was over, gore wanting only certain precincts recounted, and as many military absentee ballots thrown out as he could. Then the issue proceeded to the Supremes, which at the time was dominated by leftards 5-4. The Supremes ruled that the vote recounts were illegal by a 7-2 vote, but disagreed that the remedy to end the count was the proper course, but this remedy held with a 5-4 vote.
    You and others can claim the GOP stole the election, but they didn’t.
    So get over it.
    Gore got more popular votes, but not more electoral votes, which is why we have the system we do, so states with larger populations can’t dictate to the rest of the country how they will be governed. Leap ahead to 2006, and you will find that W got more popular votes than any President in the history of this great nation. That’s despite the countless incidents of Dhimmicrat voter fraud.
    Personally, I don’t give a shiite what algore or Shrillery do or don’t do, neither is fit to lead or govern this country, and in a perfect world, both would be shunned, laughed at, and ignored.

  30. Those close to Al Gore say he is not running for president.

    Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider makes it pretty clear:

    Gore hasn’t refused to ever enter the race. But, Kreider said, “He truly has no intention of running.”

    Gore obfuscates the issue, denying that he has plans to run, while also giving supporters hope that he might be persuaded to run.

  31. Heh. They also overlooked the fact that many of us Dems that voted for Nader knew that he didn’t have a snowball’s chance on a Phoenix sidewalk in July, hated and distrusted Al Gore as a candidate (which was subsequently born out by his attempt to selectively recount the votes) yet did not really want to vote for W because we felt that JEB should be the Bush running for President on the Republican ticket.

  32. Just another way to try and tell us that government needs to control the American people!
