It’s the Gators!

cbrewer.jpgAfter defeating Ohio State in the National Championship game in college football, The University of Florida won the National Championship in college basketball, 84-75 over Ohio State in the Atlanta, Georgia Dome tonight.

It was the outside sharp-shooting of Florida vs. the inside muscle of Greg Oden. Ohio State dominated the points in the paint, but it was not enough to prevent Florida from claiming back to back national championships.

First came a hoops championship. Next was the football title. And now, another basketball crown. Florida added to its dynasty with a dominating 84-75 win over Ohio St. in Atlanta.

April, already?

The first quarter of the new year is in the can. As you check your 401(k) quarterly statements, and listen to the latest News Alert on just who exactly is the father of Anna Nicole’s baby, here are a few random thoughts, quotes, and links for consideration.

On the non-flying imans:

Given that Islamic terrorists continue their obsession with turning airplanes into weapons of mass destruction, it is nothing short of obscene that these six religious leaders–fresh from attending a conference of the North American Imams Federation, featuring discussions on “Imams and Politics” and “Imams and the Media”–chose to turn that airport into a stage and that airplane into a prop in the service of their need for grievance theater. The reality is, these passengers endured a frightening 3 1/2-hour ordeal, which included a front-to-back sweep of the aircraft with a bomb-sniffing dog, in order to advance the provocative agenda of these imams in, of all the inappropriate places after 9/11, U.S. airports.

“Allahu Akbar” was just the opening act. After boarding, they did not take their assigned seats but dispersed to seats in the first row of first class, in the midcabin exit rows and in the rear–the exact configuration of the 9/11 execution teams. The head of the group, seated closest to the cockpit, and two others asked for a seatbelt extension, kept on board for obese people. A heavy metal buckle at the end of a long strap, it can easily be used as a lethal weapon. The three men rolled them up and placed them on the floor under their seats. And lest this entire incident be written off as simple cultural ignorance, a frightened Arabic-speaking passenger pulled aside a crew member and translated the imams’ suspicious conversations, which included angry denunciations of Americans, furious grumblings about U.S. foreign policy, Osama Bin Laden and “killing Saddam.”source

And the appropriate response from John Doe….

Dear Muslim Terrorist Plotter/Planner/Funder/Enabler/Apologist,

You do not know me. But I am on the lookout for you. You are my enemy. And I am yours. I am John Doe.

I am traveling on your plane. I am riding on your train. I am at your bus stop. I am on your street. I am in your subway car. I am on your lift. I am your neighbor. I am your customer. I am your classmate. I am your boss. I am John Doe.

On sudden jihad syndrome….

Let’s see. There was the Egyptian man who shot dead two people at the El Al counter at Los Angeles airport. Before that, there was the Muslim who fired at a van of yeshiva boys in Brooklyn, killing 14-year-old Aaron Halberstam. There was the man who killed Rabbi Kahane after one of his speeches at a New York City hotel. There have been the mobs that prevented speeches (by Benjamin Netanyahu and other pro-Israel speakers at Concordia University in Montreal), and have intimidated others or tried to (see Brigitte Gabriel’s website). There was the Egyptian co-pilot, who had a Muslim fit, grabbed the controls, and turned the plane into a nose dive, shouting “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar” as the whole plane, and all of its passengers, including Americans, went down. There was the man, a Muslim named Ford, who tried to kill co-workers at a Safeway because they supposedly “made fun of him” for being a Muslim. There was the recent Muslim graduate of UNC/Chapel Hill who carefully planned to run down fellow students in “The Pit,” a place for pedestrian traffic only, where students could sit around and relax. There was the Muslim man who shot several people on the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building, back in the early 1990s, found with a note in his pocket denouncing Jews…There was…there was….there was…source

Well, there was a shootem-up at a Jewish center in Seattle, and at a mall in Salt Lake City, a plot to murder and behead members of the Canadian government, a plot to explode aircraft over the Atlantic, a plot to pass on military intelligence from a muslim-american member of the military, and still, the borders remain unsecured, political correctness threatens the ability of security personnel to use common sense in protecting us, Islam is still the religion of peace™, and Sandy Berger still hasn’t taken a lie detector test. Further, instead of providing needed funds for Americans in harm’s way, the majority party in Congress selectively focuses its wrath against the true enemies of democracy in the Justice Department, and blue-state bureaucrats focus their limited resources on stemming the threat from fundamentalist Christians.

Muslim murderers remain obsessed with aircraft. Why? Could it be as simple as the fact that their sponsoring countries have no long-range bombers? What would be the EMP effect of exploding a device at 40,000 feet on a regularly scheduled flight from Tehran to Amsterdam? As Europe descended into the resulting chaos of the ensuing dark age, the answer to the rest of us might be, “Who needs a bomber fleet to deliver WMDs?”

Also of note:

A call will go out for an army of fact-checkers to give a critical review of Hollywood’s (and HBO’s) intepretation of the Florida 2000 election, set for release in Spring 2008.

“It’s a very compelling piece that takes a well-known event and deconstructs it from the point of view of the people involved,” HBO Films president Colin Callender said.

While “Recount” takes on one of the most controversial and politically charged episodes in recent history, the telefilm has no political agenda, Callender said.
