It Must Be Letter Writing Day!

Dear Special Report,
As a regular viewer of Special Report for the past ten years, I was shocked at an uninformed comment Fred Barnes made during the ‘All-Stars’ segment, and that none of the other commentators corrected or questioned his assertion.
Mr. Barnes, in discussing the U.K. hostage situation in Iran, made the claim that Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad gave orders to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. This is patently false!
The IRGC work’s exclusively for the Supreme Leader, at this time Ayatollah Khamanei, and will only do what the President orders when the Ayatollah tells them too. Visualize an organizational chart, with the Supreme Leader at the top of the pyramid, and the President on a branch to the lower right, and the IRGC on a branch on the lower left. That is how they are structured, and when the IRGC’s Navy captured the U.K. sailors and marines, they did so on the orders of the Supreme Leader. That the President granted a pardon and released the hostages, was once again, at the pleasure of the Supreme Leader.
I write this out of concern, that a major news organization that I respect, could be so misinformed, and subsequently, could misinform millions of American citizens, that do not read blogs, or even go on the internet.
Please inform everyone at FNC, and in particular, Special Report, that the structure of the government in Iran is more complex than most realize, and the important distinctions made in the U.S. need to be fully researched, before commenting.

Dear Trent Lott

Dear Senator Lott:

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to pass along a thought that has been running around in my mind. It’s not a rant, or complaint, or anything like that; just a suggestion. Besides, I know you’ve still got your hands full in putting your house back together down in Pascagoula. Me and the Missus haven’t been too long getting everything back in sync at our place, and we’re inland a fair piece. But, we all just keep putting one foot in front of the other and try to make one good decision at a time, and before too long, we are able to see the progress.

OK, so here’s the deal:

Our side has been on the political defensive for the past several years. That’s a fact. I’m wondering, do Republicans know how to go on offense? If so, what are we waiting for, a fumble, turnover, interception of some sort? OK, I’ll stop with the sports metaphors, but I do hope I’m getting through.

Big Media has carried the water for our political opponents for so many years that they are a de-facto part of the democrat party. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. So, why does our side feign outrage over media bias? Accept it. It’s there, and it ain’t going to change. Ever. It’s carved in stone…etched in the granite of immutable truth. And, now that we can accept it, it’s time to get over it, around it, improvise, adapt, and overcome.

You and Mitch are the top dawgs in the Senate, plus, we’ve got what’s his name, and whoever the heck leading over in the House. You guys might want to start your membership in some closed-door PR assertiveness training to learn how to deal effectively with an anything-but-neutral press. Then, when the other side does something stupid (which is fairly often), our guys will know how to seize the opportunity and move forward.

Take this Feinstein thing, for example. There is a Press and Media Blackout on this story. The press ought to be all over it, but they are not, because DiFi is a big-time democrat. If she were a Republican, this story would be bigger than Watergate. This little scandal is just the type of event that our side can use to seize the momentum and go on offense. That is, unless you like to be on defense all the time. And, if that’s the case, then what in the heck are you doing in a leadership position?

Best Regards,
