Happy Trails Mark and Wendy

I received an email from a good friend just a short time ago, Mark Schneider of NowPublic.com.

Mark and Wendy Schneider have decided to begin to write a new chapter in their lives together. And, although I will miss his presence at the NowPublic newsroom, I am thrilled that they’ve decided to take this opportunity, and follow their adventurous dream to sail away together.

And, I do mean “sail” literally. Mark sent me this photo of “SolMate.” She’s a real beaut!

Here’s wishing Mark and Wendy smooth sailing, gentle breezes, beautiful sunsets, and wondrous adventures yet to come.

Your daily dose of gravitas

By now, I’m sure his handlers have told him that Canada has a Prime Minister, and not a President. So, he probably won’t make that mistake again. Who knows.

One thing for sure, the freshman Senator from Illinois has promised to sit down with sworn enemies of the United States – in his first year in office, no less.

I envision that meeting to go along the lines of this video……

CQ says AP ‘fact-checks’, obviously an oxymoron,
Wapo says Mr. Gravitas would be more effective than she-who-will-not-be-named

Michael Vick, alQaeda stooge?

I just caught the tail end of a report saying that Michael Vick was a stooge for al Qaeda.
Something about money being used to buy missiles and bombs for the terrorists.

Well, I’m sure those missiles and bombs are for peaceful purposes, right RM?

And, how about this little dah’lin:

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Saraa Barhoum picked at the buttons on her pink bellbottom jeans as she twisted on a chair inside the bustling new Hamas television headquarters. The afternoon light bounced off the sparkly outlines of butterflies on her frilly top, and a colorful hijab framed her 11-year-old face.

Saraa wants to be a doctor. If she can’t, the young star of Hamas television’s best-known children’s show said, she’d be proud to become a martyr. Saraa says little Jewish girls should be forced from their homes in Israel so that Palestinians can return to their land.

What is the matter with these people?

Great moments in socialized medicine, II

Jason from Iowa posted this “great moment in socialized medicine.”

It describes the plight of a Canadian man who would have had to wait eight months for a vital brain surgery because of Canada’s inefficient social (universal) health care system. Instead of dying, he decided to come to America, where he had to pay all the bills himself (~$28,000).

Eat me?

Heh™, “edible robots.”

It’s all so clear to me now.

Pretzel Logic

The muslo-nutjob who calls himself “Radical Muslim” has declared an end to his hudna, and he’s baaaaaaaaack.
Check this sidebar quote for an example convoluted reasoning:

“A Muslim is, by definition, a follower of Islam, and is therefore, by definition, “Islamic.” Therefore, if a Muslim who is considered too “Islamic” due to their love for peace, submission to the Will of Allah, and belief that Islam is the solution to the worlds problems, is then by definition considered “radical”, should we not all strive to be “radical Islamic Muslim’s”?”

Uhh. In a word, “No.”

The best answers are quite often the simplest.

Hey, RM: I fart in your general direction!
