Giants in super win

What a game. The underdog NY Giants, led by a swarming and pressuring defense, and by the determined efforts of MVP Eli Manning, upset the heavily favored New England Patriots.

eli.jpgIn one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history, New York shattered New England‘s unbeaten season 17-14 Sunday night as Manning hit Plaxico Burress on a 13-yard fade with 35 seconds left. It was the Giants’ 11th straight victory on the road and the first time the Patriots tasted defeat in more than a year.

It was the most bitter of losses, too, because New England (18-1) was one play from winning and getting the ultimate revenge for being penalized for illegally taping opponents’ defensive signals in the season-opener against the New York Jets.

But its defense couldn’t stop a final, frantic 12-play, 83-yard drive that featured a spectacular leaping catch by David Tyree, who had scored New York’s first touchdown on the opening drive of the fourth quarter.

“It’s the greatest feeling in professional sports,” Burress said before bursting into tears.

As someone said, “That’s why they play the game.”

Sunday cool site

I’ve been trying to figure out the internet video thingy for a couple of years now.  Every time I think I have it figured out, I will realize that it’s going to take too much time and money to do what I want to do.

And, frankly, that’s part of the problem, I really don’t know what I want to do with video, except that it makes an individual blog a more powerful medium than words and pictures alone.  That was one of the reasons that I was willing to migrate away from WordPress to Conservablogs and more recently to Red Nation.  WordPress has severe video limitations which the other sites don’t have.

Here is a cool site that I ran across recently when surfing around for video resources.

It’s called KeepVid.

The idea behind KeepVid is to actually be able to download videos from other websites, rather than just save the embed from another hosted site.  With KeepVid, you can keep the video in your library, independent of any web-hosting service.  Cool, huh.

Plus, for a mere 40 Bucks, you can download software that will allow you to record virtually any video livestream and convert it to a format that will allow you to post it, email it, or do whatever you want.  The software is called Replay , and it’s not only inexpensive, it looks to be pretty flexible as well.  I haven’t bought it yet, but I have it bookmarked for future use, when I figure out what I want to do with it.

“Yes” to garnishing paychecks to pay for HillaryCare

This morning on “This Week” on ABC, she was pressed about garnishing wages (to pay for her Health Insurance program) and dodged it a few times before saying,

“George, there will be an enforcement mechanism, whether it is that or something else.”

So she is open to the idea of garnishing wages. Her words.

Go ahead Conservatives, stay home or vote 3rd party.
