Clintoon and Chebama reps meet with Assad

From The Midnight Sun

Two men, one from Clinton’s camp and one from Obama’s were over in Syria having a tete-a-tete with terrorism sponsor, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad last week, and they didn’t want you to know about it. Firstly, is the whole public tango between Obama and Clinton one big stage show? And, more importantly, here’s a prediction. Under either of the two Democrat possible presidents, the U.S. is going as openly dhimmi as the U.K. and it’s not going to be pretty. From Right Truth:

A prominent fundraiser for the campaign of Hillary Clinton, who has been accused of serving as an agent of the Islamic government of Iran, and Zbigniew Brzezinski, who is likely to become Secretary of State in the administration of Barack Hussein Obama, were in Syria last week to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as part of a Rand Corporation delegation. McCain vs. Huckabee

To: Sen. John McCain

A Republican debate was scheduled to take place on February 28th, 2008. It was to be sponsored by the Ohio Republican Party. This debate has since been mysteriously cancelled. A rush to judgment has ensued following the Super Tuesday elections on February 5th in which more than 21 states held primaries or caucuses. Sen. John McCain gained an enormous advantage and squeezed out Gov. Mitt Romney. Gov. Mike Huckabee was left standing as the Party’s only other viable candidate.

We believe:
1) Sen. McCain should earn the respect of the Republican base by debating Mike Huckabee in one or more formal Lincoln-Douglas style debates.
2) that failure to publicly engage Gov. Huckabee in debate before March 4th should be considered a gross attempt to grab the nomination without properly demonstrating a viable candidacy.

Thus, we hereby petition Sen. McCain to accept an invitation to debate Mike Huckabee with all due haste and prove or disprove his worthiness.

Huck’s last stand

The latest polling from ARG shows a statistical tie heading into tomorrow’s Wisconsin primary.

TCUL poll of likely voters shows a similar result in Texas 3/4 primary.

Ohio, also March 4, is all over the map. Best estimate is McCain by double digits.

Mississippi’s primary is scheduled for 3/10. But, if Huck doesn’t pull off his miracle, the primary will be meaningless.

Most everyone believes the race is already over, so why is Huck holding out?

“Remember the Republican nominee must have 1,191 votes to claim the nomination or else there will be a brokered convention where the Party’s top candidates will have an opportunity to make an impassioned plea as to why they are the best choice to represent the Republican Party in the fall against the Democrat candidate.

Before we get to a brokered convention however we will need to win Texas and seize the momentum.”

The odds are long, and Huck is running uphill and against a strong headwind. If Huck takes Wisconsin, the race continues to Texas and Ohio. It might also mean a head to head debate with McCain. I would truly love to see that.

Another day, another tax increase

Just how much would a Hillary Clinton administration raise taxes?

It depends on who you ask, and lately, it also depends on when you ask. Mrs. Clinton has previously touted her version of fiscal responsibility, “I have a million ideas. I can’t do all of them. I happen to think in running a disciplined campaign – especially when it comes to fiscal responsibility, which is what I’m trying to do – everything I propose I have to pay for.”

Today, Team Clinton unveiled her “economic blueprint” which would include an additional $820 billion in taxes over the next decade, aimed at oil companies, drug companies, and corporations which “ship jobs overseas.” This is in addition to allowing the Bush tax cuts expire, which would increase taxes by a staggering $4.3 Trillion, according to estimates provided by the National Women’s Law Center.

Do the math.

Hillary Clinton is proposing $5.1 trillion in new taxes over the next decade.

Since she is proposing new spending programs to match the tax increases, the growth of Federal spending poised to grow dramatically under a Clinton Administration.

Update: So, where is the club for greed when you need them? Glad you asked. They’re still attacking Republicans.

A muslim state in Europe

Kosovo seceded from Serbia yesterday.

The new country was recognized by the US and the EU today.

Paris was first to announce its move after a European Union foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels, and Britain, Germany and Italy followed immediately.

Then Washington said the words Kosovo’s 2 million Albanians have long dreamed of.

“The United States has today formally recognized Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state. We congratulate the people of Kosovo on this historic occasion,”Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said in a statement.

The EU appealed for calm after Serbian protesters stoned Western embassies in Belgrade on Sunday night …

….. A new, independent muslim state in Europe ….

The line of the day comes from French Foreign Minister Kouchner, “It’s the end of the Balkan troubles.”

In my humble opinion, the “Balkan troubles” have just now begun in earnest. The smartest guys in DC, Paris London, Rome, Berlin, and across Europe are saying this is a great day. The rest of us are shaking our heads in disbelief.

When the Paris suburbs decide to secede from France, I wonder if Kouchner, et al will maintain a consistent position.
