Sudden jihad syndrome

The case for sudden jihad syndrome was made again.  This time in Germany, 21 year old Arid Uka.

But last Wednesday, that vision of normal life vanished. German security officials say Mr. Uka perpetrated the first terrorist attack on German soil since Sept. 11, 2001, killing two American airmen and wounding two other men in anger at the U.S. deployment in Afghanistan. One of the dead, as well as the two injured, were members of a security team en route to Afghanistan, according to the U.S. Air Force. The other man killed was stationed at Ramstein Air Base and was the driver of the bus.

Naturally, the NYT looks for a reason to Blame America First for the jihadi attack …

According to the prosecutor in the case, Mr. Uka told investigators that he had acted alone and that he had decided to carry out the attack after seeing a video on YouTube that apparently showed American soldiers raping a girl in Afghanistan. There is indeed a video that was posted recently on several jihadist forums and is still available that shows men in U.S. uniforms appearing to rape a young woman.

  1. This is what anti-American propaganda gets us.

  2. As we have seen with other alleged “sudden jihad” attacks, they are never “sudden” and could have been prevented if some people who knew had said or done something.
