Subic and Clark to be re-opened

It doesn’t seem like it’s been 21 years since the Navy and the Air Force pulled out of Subic Bay and Clark AFB in the Philippines, but this story from Business Insider makes me hope we can get N2L to bring us some more adventures from the SYM …

Travis Tritten at Stars and Stripes  reports that the Pentagon has apparently been fanning the old flame of friendship with the Philippines and will be re-opening two bases it left in 1991 — Subic Bay and Clark Air Base … source

So Long, VodPod!

My video collection is gone, along with one of the better video sites on the internet.

Vodpod has been acquired by something called Lockerz.

So, the ability to save, share, highlight, rank, and use videos from all across the web has been lost. Hate that. I can’t tell much about Lockerz. It looks like something targeted at young women, and not something the average Vodpod user will find interesting at all. Oh well, what do I know?

So Long VodPod. See You in the funny papers.

Update:    My video collection is still available at   Nuke TV.

Update 2:  the bastards found  Nuke TV and delted it.

So, ESAD Lockerz.com

Bugs gotta eat. Same as the worms

Five weeks ago, Adam Mayes murdered Jo Ann Bain and her 14 year old daughter Adrienne, and buried them in the back yard of his Alpine, Mississippi home.

He then kidnapped the two younger Bain daughters and fled.

Mayes was discovered a few days later, and shot himself in the head. The two girls were unharmed.

Today, Mayes’ body was donated to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where forensic students
will use it for research.

Rebecca Taylor, the center’s assistant coordinator, said donated corpses are allowed to decompose outdoors so students can study the decaying process and the skeletal remains.

Amazing Courage and Bravery. 68th anniversary of D-Day

President Reagan’s Address at the Ceremony Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion, D-day at Point-du-Hoc – 6/6/84.

Isn’t it nice to see an American President make a speech without using a teleprompter?

It’s Good to be Hated Again

Scott Walker prevails in Wisconsin.

In the end, there was very little doubt. The people of Wisconsin spoke loudly and clearly. In fact, the major news networks had called it before 8:30 p.m.

Deep blue Wisconsin is in play for 2012, as conservatives dealt President Obama and his union allies a staggering blow.

I suppose it sounds like I’m gloating a little bit. Yeah, well suck on it Goonions!
