A Guest Post by Dick Bachert
I’ve posted this around the net a number of times and do so again inasmuch as THIS is a constantly recurring problem and some may not grasp how widespread it is. And now that the RNC has OPENLY declared war on the TEA Party, it should be clear to all why I have for a few decades cautioned my many friends to NOT SEND THE RNC A NICKLE.
Over the years – when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger man’s clothes – I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) – because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larry’s record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the Pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mother’s cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name – and his incredible resolve and love of this country.) How ironic that he, like General Patton, was also assassinated by the communists they both despised. It was my honor to introduce Larry at his last public speech in the district before that ill-fated KAL007 flight!
Those other candidates ran as Republicans and each had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club Pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes. I served as treasurer for several and in other capacities for more.
As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local Pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign “professionals” ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.
Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these “professionals” proceeded to TORPEDO our guy’s campaign in subtle but effective ways.
From that experience I can tell you that the Pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.
If YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2014 and beyond – and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they want to send you no-strings cash for your campaign, take it. If, however, they “suggest” sending in one of their “professionals,” tell them to fuggetaboutit.
They ARE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!!!!

He is on the Department of Homeland Security’s Advisory Council. He is also a long-time official in the Texas Republican Party and was a delegate for Republican presidential nominee John McCain in 2008.
Who is this Texas Republican? Any guesses from our Texas readers? I won’t keep you in suspense. His name is Mohamed Elibiary.
This senior DHS Advisor actually tweeted on June 13 that a “Caliphate” is inevitable and compared it to the EU.
Elibiary said America’s choice is whether to support it or not. He implied that he wants the U.S. to support a future caliphate, framing it as a Muslim version of the European Union.
Online supporters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), a terrorist group that fights to reestablish the caliphate with Baghdad as its capital, distributed and praised Elibiary’s tweet.
Who the Caliph might turn out to be is not known. But, what is not a mystery are the duties of the Caliph:
O9.8: “The caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians…until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax.”
O9.9: “The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim.” This is referring to those who are not Jewish, Christian or Zoroastrian. The text acknowledges that some scholars believe it is permissible to allow any kind of non-Muslims to live under sharia except those that leave Islam or are Arab “idol worshippers.” The only choice for those are to convert or die.
P40.1-2: This section cites a hadith that states that whoever disobeys the “leader,” disobeys Allah. The text states that the “leader” is the caliph or his authorized representative.
You know, and I know that this country is not prepared for what the world will look like with the return of these barbarians. And yet, they are still welcomed into the country. Even peaceful moslems would be considered heretical, subject to a standing death sentence for not obeying the caliph. It wouldn’t take much for the current random instances of moslem violence in this country to become something entirely different, much more violent, and with much greater frequency. And, in the EU which Elibiary compares the modern day Caliphate to, there would be blood in the streets, sooner rather than later.

It’s sickening to hear people – some I really respect – sounding so wrong about “the death” of the Tea Party and how badly they’re doing in the 2014 elections.
Sure, the trolls keep repeating it, but even in Republican circles I’m still hearing how the Tea Party has completely lost all influence in American politics and people are buying into it. To that I can only ask:
What are you, new?
When someone talks about the Tea Party being dead, or that “the brand” is damaged, or however the libs have managed to define it, you can bet it’s someone that doesn’t get out much.
Only folks sequestered in their basements, hospital rooms, DC offices or likewise have been sold this bill of goods. Get out into actual America and it’s the opposite, trust me. What these naysayers are yacking about are Tea Party “groups,” and who cares? What I care about is conservative voters. We are the Tea Party and these opportunistic groups aside, we’ve been busy kicking ass in 2014.
Enabling the Tea Party Downers’ ignorance as always are the media – ignoring the victories Tea Party voters are bringing this time around, despite us having to fight a three-front war against liberals, the media and the establishment GOP – bent on destroying the very people who put them in power.
Tea Party candidate Dan Bongino with his Obama bashing and damn Tea Party ideas just barely squeaked by his opponent, 84%- 16% in Maryland’s Sixth. Why is it newsworthy? Because it’s the only competitive district in Maryland for the GOP.
Didn’t hear about Dan’s landslide? That doesn’t surprise me, there was hardly a mention of him anywhere. He’s a former Secret Service Agent who claims Obama is corrupt and not qualified to lead the nation.
If Dan would have lost that badly, you think they would have reported a little something about the Tea Party boy getting whipped? Yeah. But do a google news search on his primary victory and…. yeah. No wonder you shut-ins think the Tea Party is dead, the NY Times, WaPo, HuffPo and all the other Po’s you read act like they’re dead.
Let’s jump right to Eric Cantor getting shellacked by Tea Party candidate David Brat. How many reports immediately sprang out announcing Brat was ignored by Tea Party groups? It’s true – but who cares? Brat was supported by Tea Party voters and this movement was never about groups.
The Tea Party is a true grass-roots movement no matter how they’ve lied to you about it being “astro-turf”, financed and contrived by the Koch Brothers or whatever. Stop being an idiot. If the Koch Brothers could invent a movement to shift political power such as the Tea Party did in 2010, don’t you think they’d have done it sooner and more often since then? Are you that stupid? Yes you are, so you need some more:
Ken Buck, Tea Party guy in Colorado in the 4th District wins the special election there – but is it news? If he would have came in last it would have been. So I’ll ask again – why do you say the Tea Party hasn’t won anything? Ben Sasse in Nebraska: Tea Party – BLAM! Alex Mooney in West Virginia: Tea Party – BLAM! There’s more –
How many Tea Party candidates have won elections in Texas this year? Too many BLAM!s to list, friendo. They’ve dominated and yet the Tea Party is dead? There are literally dozens of victories already this year in Texas for Tea Party candidates, including the ousting of America’s most senior Congressman, GOP establishment extraordinaire, Ralph Hall… Who?
“Ralph Hall!” I screamed at the media… He was beaten by Tea Party candidate “John Ratcliffe!” Wait – are you telling me that an incumbent Congressman got beat in a runoff election for the first time in 20 years – and by some Tea Party upstart, John Ratcliffe? That sounds like a story!
Well, not one that the mainstream press has any interest in. And not one that people hanging onto the dead Tea Party narrative are going to admit actually happened.
It happened my friends. Just like Tea Party guy Curt Clawson in Florida who cruised to victory in the 19th District in yet another special election ignored by the media and our buddies in Tea Party Denial Land.
Chris McDaniel is challenging the close results in Mississippi after the despicable Thad Cochran campaign. The media has taken the opportunity to use the Cochran re-election as an example of the Tea Party’s demise. If anything, doesn’t it show the strength of the Tea Party?
It’s hard to beat a guy that’s been in there for thirty or forty years – especially when millions come pouring in from decades of influence. And what about when scumbags from the left start supporting the GOP establishment candidate? Any idea what Cochran had to resort to in order to fend off Tea Party voters? McDaniel would have gotten trounced if the Tea Party were dead, so stop saying that.
No, we’re not winning like 2010 – but now we have the GOP establishment with the Chamber of Commerce, Mark Zuckerburg, Labor Unions, the evil Main Street Republican Partnership Super PAC and even George Soros money teamed up against us. So yeah, it’s hard out here for a pimp.
We’re losing some races – it’s true – but we’re not just winning a ton of them, we’re making this election about which candidate can be the most conservative. It’s forcing the GOP to admit they’re a bunch of Obama enablers. They’re exposed and they need to be beaten before we can do battle with the Maoists.
But to sit there and claim the Tea Party is dead because a couple of greedy and goofy-ass Tea Party “Groups” are backing the wrong horse here and there is just making you sound stupid. Get with the program, buddy – we’re still rolling and the general election is where we need to get it together.
Tea Party groups? Who cares? Tea Party candidates and voters? Not dead by a long shot, so quit saying it. Leave that to the wannabes.

We are quickly approaching our 8th Blog Birthday. Far out, huh!
It has been and continues to be a fun hobby for me, although Mrs. Nuke does chide me for the time I “waste” on the internet.
I understand her point. Really, I do.
For all of the pleasure I find in this hobby of mine, occasionally I think we make a difference on the issues of our day; personal liberty, freedom and responsibility, conservatism, capital punishment.
And, college football, too. Can’t forget that.
But, I never forget that this is just my hobby.
I started reading the Gates of Vienna blog back when we all used to hang out at the Blog Which Will Not Be Named, shortly after the RatherGate Bruhaha. Always well written and well researched, GOV became my go-to blog for information and news regarding the Resistance to the islamization of the West. The Baron and Dymphna, Atlas, Jihad Watch, and others became regular reads as well. I didn’t realize it at the time, but not all bloggers are hobbyists like n2l and me. Some are dedicated to staying on watch, standing guard for the rest of us. Full timers who rely on their blogs for a livelihood. Full timers like The Gates of Vienna.
I added the GOV rss feed to our blog several years ago. It just made it easier to jump back and forth to specific stories. ICYMI, it’s in the lower right hand side bar. The following was posted today:
Bless all of you who have given, and a nudge to those who’ve been “meaning to send something” but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Please put your good intention into action. It would do wonders for us both, but especially for the real worker around here.
Years ago, The Baron and Dymphna reached a fork in the road, and chose the one less traveled. The rewards have been not only for them, but for we, their readers, and hopefully, our children and grandchildren as well. We need to support these who stand watch; these who sound the warning.
So, drop by and kick in a few coins in their tip jar. It will help some very fine folks.
Thanks,
Nuke

As the saying goes, a good prosecutor can persuade a Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich.
In this case however , an Orange County, CA Grand Jury returned a true bill in a 44-count indictment of Democrat super-donor and self-described “best friend” of Nancy Pelosi, Kareem Ahmed.
He was named as the “ringleader” in a conspiracy involving a multimillion dollar scheme to defraud the workers compensation system. The sealed court documents obtained by KPCC 89.3 public radio also named Ahmed on charges of involuntary manslaughter of a minor.
Kareem Ahmed’s largest contribution of 2012 …. went to the effort to re-elect President Barack Obama in his race against Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Between February and March of 2012 he gave $1 million to “Priorities USA Action,” the Progressive super PAC founded by Obama White House aides Bill Burton and Sean Sweeny

Continuing along the theme of our annual countdown to the college football season, it’s time to take a look around the country to see what is happening in other places.
Today, we look at Michigan of the B1G 10 (AP)
Michigan authorities say a man tried to throw a football loaded with drugs and cellphones into the yard of a state prison.
State Trooper Toby Baker says Sunday’s throw in Jackson fell short, with the football landing between two fences, not in the yard where prisoners exercise.
… the ball contained heroin, marijuana, tobacco, three cellphones and chargers.
Twenty-two-year-old Christen D. Moore was arraigned Tuesday in Jackson District Court on contraband charges and ordered jailed on a $50,000 bond.
To borrow a quote from the Fearless Leader, “What A Dumbass!”
Our 2014 forecast for the Big Blue … 8-4.

JUNETEENTH. On June 19 (“Juneteenth”), 1865, Union general Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston and issued General Order Number 3, which read in part, “The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor.” The tidings of freedom reached the approximately 250,000 slaves in Texas gradually as individual plantation owners informed their bondsmen over the months following the end of the war. The news elicited an array of personal celebrations, some of which have been described in The Slave Narratives of Texas (1974). The first broader celebrations of Juneteenth were used as political rallies and to teach freed African American about their voting rights. Within a short time, however, Juneteenth was marked by festivities throughout the state, some of which were organized by official Juneteenth committees. source

I chose 75 days as the countdown start for one simple reason, 1975 was the final season for OU running back Joe Washington, one of my all-time favorite Sooners and my favorite “ankle breaker” of all-time.
Little Joe knows a thing or two about winning, his final season was with a consensus National Championship team. In a recent interview he was asked about the upcoming season and the prospects for the Sooners. He stated:
“What’s the best way?” said Joe Washington, who helped carry the 1974 and 1975 Sooners to national championships in his iconic silver shoes.
“Coming in with disappointment and being hungry, or coming in with excitement? Hopefully these guys remember what it was like in (the Sugar Bowl) dressing room, and also remember what it was like in the Cotton Bowl dressing room.”
Indeed, the 2013 Sooners began the season with a very young team and no clear starter at QB, after a humiliating loss in the Cotton Bowl. They struggled at times during the season, but also showed what they were capable of, especially near the end of the season. What they learned most of all was how to persevere, to fight and scrap, to never get down or give up. The reward for their hard work and determination was a memorable victory over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. A bowl victory that has inspired the team and the fans.
By all accounts, from coaches and players, the winter conditioning program was the best attended and performing of recent memory. The young players are bigger/stronger/faster, the players injured last season that required surgery and rehab are all back and a talented, highly ranked recruiting class is now on campus.
Expectations are high and not just by the fans.
This will be my fifty-eighth year of following OU football. I’ve seen the highs and lows that each season can bring. Barring injuries, player discipline and unfortunate bounces of the ball, this year’s team has the potential to be exceptional.
If they follow Little Joe’s advice and remember what it is like to be in the losing and winning locker room after the season ending bowl game, as well as all the coaching and hard work required, this could be a Championship season to remember.

“We don’t intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all.” — President Ronald Reagan
I have contended for a number of years that the real fight isn’t between the GOP and the DemocRats, it is between conservatives and Republicans by party name only.
This fight against conservatives has been gleefully joined by RINO’s and Libturds, as conservatives and their principles are a threat to all the ill gotten gains they have made together by expanding government at every level and rapidly decreasing the freedom and liberty of our citizens.
Too often we are exposed to carefully positioned articles, essays and reports from various sources aligned against conservatives. The recurring theme has been that the Tea Party/conservatives are finished and that the moderate/rational Republicans are reasserting control over the GOP.
With the unexpected defeat of Eric Cantor in the VA. primary last night, the tremor felt last week in Mississippi(Cochran’s expected defeat) was a prelude to the serious earth shaking felt today and the feared after shock that may result in Tennessee(Alexander’s expected defeat).
What cannot be overlooked in Brat’s defeat of Cantor is an historical fact, never in U.S. history has a House Majority Leader been defeated in a primary.
Following are some links I have found interesting and should be considered much more realistic than those the RINOs and Libs would have you believe.

Dave Brat Defeats Eric Cantor, and Writes the New Conservative Playbook
GOP Leadership Fallout: House Of Cards Meets Game Of Thrones

Finally, this story…This prominent conservative says immigration reform isn’t necessarily dead. I read the article thoroughly and could not find this alleged “prominent conservative” that was supposed to enlighten us on the amnesty legislation pending in Congress, because it certainly can’t be the Sharia supporting Grover Norquist.

Greatness personified
I have had the honor of knowing a few men who endured the horrors of the Normandy invasion.
To this day I cannot begin to fathom the emotions they must have experienced.
My eyes water and my heart is weighted with pride when I think of what they accomplished and how they suffered for us.

Friend of the Blog, Rigpa, has done found this nice rendition of our header in honor of the Battle of Midway. It’s so nice, in fact, I wanted to share it with you (click to enlarge).
“The annals of war at sea present no more intense, heart-shaking shock than this battle, in which the qualities of the United States Navy and Air Force and the American race shone forth in splendour. The bravery and self-devotion of the American airmen and sailors and the nerve and skill of their leaders was the foundation of all.” ‘Winston Churchill’

Razor thin. Apparently two counties have not reported yet, and in at least one county, Covington, the Election Commisioners who count and report the vote have already gone to bed!
Hangin’ chads ain’t got nuttin’ on us! It will be a runoff, unless last minute mischief by the vote counters bring someone to the magic 50% + 1 vote.
Mark your calendars for the runoff: June 24, 2014
Update: ( 941 pm) McDaniel pulls ahead!!!!
1407 of 1832 Precincts Reporting – 77% | |

Update (7:55 pm)
The polls are closed, the Primary Campaign is over! Nothing left to do but count the votes. WAPT in Jackson is doing a mighty fine job, and you can follow them >>HERE.<< It looks like it’s going to be a long night.
Me? I’m going to kick back on the Veranda, and enjoy the sunset with a fine Maduro from Lucky Cigars. Do yourself a favor: drop by their website and order a bundle. These are some of the finest smokes I’ve had. I put them right up there next to those Havana smokes by big brah gave me on his return from Saudi. And, tell ’em Nuke sent you.

Update (4:20 pm)
Polls close in less than three hours. Weather may be a factor, as the off and on rain storms continue to pound the state. That bodes well for the candidate who has the most motivated voter support, McDaniel.
—
In the Senate race of Chris McDaniel vs. Thad Cochran, I have bad news and good news.
The bad news is that Thad Cochran is carrying his hometown with 99.99% of the voters.
The good news is that those Washington DC voters don’t get to vote in Mississippi elections.

Polls Close at 7PM Central.

It’s down to the ground game in Mississippi, but good ol’ Thad isn’t above some last minute verbal arson.
Senator Thad Cochran, sensing he may be retired after 42 years in D.C., is engaging in social media low-blows.
His latest Facebook post exclaims: “Scandal-plagued liar Chris McDaniel says Thad is for gun control. The truth? Thad Cochran is endorsed by the NRA.”
First of all, candidates endorsed by the NRA may or may not support gun control. After all, the NRA has a strong preference of supporting incumbents, including RINO Republicans and even Democrats. These are people who often capitulate to gun control efforts if not actively promote them.
If we are going to play the endorsement game, endorsements by Gun Owners of America and the National Association for Gun Rights for McDaniel should be much more reassuring to gun owners.
Calling McDaniel a liar was pretty bold of Cochran and he failed to back it up. By contrast, McDaniel has cited three anti-gun votes, all of which Cochran…
