Mammas don’t let your babies grow up to be … bankers

Another dead banker. This one from Citi

  • Police investigating the death of Citigroup banker Shawn D. Miller, 42
  • Body was found in the bathtub of his Financial District apartment Tuesday with a laceration to the throat
  • No signs of forced entry and no weapon found at the scene
  • Police suspect foul play
  • Surveillance footage shows Miller going into his apartment with a man on Monday night about 6.30pm
  • The man then left alone
  • Miller was the managing director of Citigroup’s environment and social risk management team
Too big to fail banking has failed in every sense of the word, except for the final one:  collapse.
The banking “industry” was most effective when it was both local and accountable.  Whether or not there is a direct connection between the spate of dead bankers, and the looming problems in the megabanks is something that we can only speculate.
Given some of the revelations of Hank Greenbergs’, lawsuit,  it does have the discernible odor of corruption.

  1. I wonder if Citi has the BOLI (bank owned life insurance) policies on their employees like Chase does? Chase has collected tens of millions from their dead employees, even after they had already left Chase.

  2. more than likely they do.
