Not since reading An Army of Davids have I been inspired to believe that there is still a chance for right and reason to prevail in the USA. Not since yesterday when I ordered the Kindle edition of Vox Day’s SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down The Thought Police.
Seven years of being fundamentally transformed will do that to you.
And before that, eight years of the Bush administration refusing to defend itself against the relentless attack from the Left. I mean, who can forget watching Alberto Gonzales getting bludgeoned in oversight hearings, or the daily press briefing with Scott McClellan. They left it up to Right bloggers to engage in the hand to hand combat with the lefties of the MSM and internet as well.
It was hard, thankless work. Still is, in fact. Especially when your own party is too afraid of being called “racist, sexist, homophobe, islamophobe” to even put up a modicum of resistance. And then, when we mount successful stands through the loose confederation of Tea Party alliances, we are undermined by our own supposed allies. And they wonder why we won’t roll over on the Speaker election!
Who would have thought that the model for victory would be found in the Sci-Fi world, and in their close alliances with video gamers?
“Not I,” said the duck.
My heartfelt advice to you, loyal readers, is to spend 5 bucks and read this book. I finished it this morning, and I’m still in a giddy daze.
I am Sparticus. I am the Leader of #GamerGate.

I had to read this statement a couple of times to try and make some sense of it:
President Barack Obama has a moral responsibility to push back on the nation’s journalism community when it is planning to publish anti-jihadi articles that might cause a jihadi attack against the nation’s defenses forces, the White House’s press secretary said Jan. 12.
It still makes little sense to me that Obama is willing to sacrifice the First Amendment in order to mollify the Islamics.
It also reminded me of a cartoon that I watched as a child. Popeye the Sailor certainly wasn’t concerned about offending the Imperial Japanese Navy when he sang, “You’re A Sap, Sap, Sap Mr. Jap.”

But he answered and said unto them,
An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Matthew 12:39
In the ancient city of Mosul, Christians have been told they must convert to mohammedism, face the sword, or leave forever. Christianity in Iraq is on the brink of extinction. Churches have been laid to ruin, property plundered, and families brutalized and murdered. The same in Syria, as reports of the crucifiction of Christians who would not renounce their faith have emerged.
Also this week the tomb of the prophet Jonah was destroyed.
The destruction of Jonah’s tomb was not an attack on archaeology. It was an attack on both those Christians living in Iraq today and on the rich Christian heritage of the region. (read more)
The sign of Jonah is recognized as representing the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. I have no personal revelation that the destruction of the tomb in Mosul is in any way related to the Scripture that I quoted to begin this post, but it was the very first thing that occurred to me when I saw the video report on cable news.
Signs and wonders…. How about the river in China turning tomato-soup-red in the matter of a couple of hours? In fact, blogger Moar Kardoudi has documented several other yet unexplained recent instances of rivers running red.

In America, the list of scandals and power grabs by President Obama grows longer with each passing week. Presidential approval ratings have fallen to their lowest levels since the Jimmy Carter debacle, with no end in sight. And yet, he keeps the gas pedal to the floor, the Cloward Piven strategy stretching the nation to the breaking point.
With so many people oblivious to current events, blaming the blameless for their own problems and struggles, and captivated by the poisonous demogoguery of souless, sold-out politicians, how can our society do anything but crash and burn?
And so, I remain by day a businessman. By night, a father, grandfather, and husband, trying to keep my head in a world spinning out of control. King David once said that his rod and his staff provided him comfort. With me, it is my carbine and my food pantry.
I fear this will end soon. Badly.

Mississippi’s own Bennie Thompson. Elected from the gerrymandered 2nd District, drawn to guarantee a black voting supermajority, Bennie knows a thing or two about racial preference. He bagan his career in local politics as a ‘race man’, finding racial motives and evil intent on the part of anyone and anything that opposed him. Being elected to Congress hasn’t changed him one bit–not even a smidgen.
Andrew Kaczynski reports at BuzzFeed:
A Mississippi Democratic Congressman says Clarence Thomas is an “Uncle Tom,” Mitch McConnell is a “racist,” and that Republicans are only anti-big government and anti-Obamacare because President Obama is black. Rep. Bennie Thompson made the comments over the weekend while appearing on a New Nation of Islam radio program.
“I’ve been in Washington. I saw three presidents now. I never saw George Bush treated like this. I never saw Bill Clinton treated like this with such disrespect,” Thompson said. “That Mitch McConnell would have the audacity to tell the president of the United States — not the chief executive, but the commander-in-chief — that ‘I don’t care what you come up with we’re going to be against it.’ Now if that’s not a racist statement I don’t know what is.”
Thompson adds at 2:40 in the video that the governor of Mississippi was against expanding Medicaid through Obamacare “just because a black man created it.”
At 3:00 into the video, Thompson adds opposition to Obama is “all about race” and “when a black man comes with an idea [for Obamacare] there’s something wrong with it. Again, it’s race creeping into the picture.”
At 4:47 in the video, he says the anti-government attitude has only been around since Obama was president.
“Now all of a sudden, government is the worst thing in the world since a black man became president.”
Discussing the Supreme Court and affirmative action, Thompson refers to Justice Clarence Thomas as an “Uncle Tom,” adding, “it’s almost to the point saying this man doesn’t like black people, he doesn’t like being black.”
There is just so much wrong with Bennie’s statements, I don’t know where to begin. But, why bother? There are no Jedi mind tricks I’m aware of to pry open Bennie’s mind. He certainly didn’t get to where he is by being open-minded. Nope, ol’ Bennie is a hard-core socialist.
In November 1979, Marxists from the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee initiated a Democratic Agenda Conference, in Washington, D.C. The conference focused on “corporate power” as the key barrier to “economic and political democracy,” concepts many Democratic Agenda participants defined as “socialism.” Bennie Thompson of the Mississippi Association of Black Mayors joined a panel entitled: “Relating Local Issues to the Democratic Party.”
In July 1996, Democratic Socialists of America (formerly Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee) endorsed Bennie Thompson, Mississippi 2, in that year’s Congressional elections.
In 1982, Bennie Thompson served on the National Coordinating Committee of a Communist Party USA front, the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, which was led by leading Party members Angela Davis and Charlene Mitchell.
Bennie will have job security for as long as MS-02 remains a gerrymandered mess. Check your privelege, Benny.

Dave Jolly has pulled the first upset of the 2014 election cycle in FL-13 over Democrat Alex Sink. Pundits on the Right have begun to cautiously speak of a bellwether victory, and a harbinger of things to come. Optimistic talk for sure, but frankly something that ought scare the pants off Democrats (sorry for that visual).
However for Debbie Schultz, losing isn’t such a bad thing:
“Tonight, Republicans fell short of their normal margin in this district because the agenda they are offering voters has a singular focus – that a majority of voters oppose – repealing the Affordable Care Act* that would return us to the same old broken health care system,”
If this is encouraging news in a Florida district that was carried twice by Obama, then how encouraged should the Left be? In the most recent nationwide approval ratings, Obamacare is still 20 points upside-down.
IKR?
So, is there a silver lining for the Left? I say yes, and it has nothing to do with Schultz’s hastily cobbled talking points.
The real loser here I think is Rand Paul who came out in support of Overby, the Libertarian. In a race that was decided by less than 2 points, Paul would have had a lot of ‘splaining to do had Overby proven to be the spoiler. Perhaps “loser” is too strong. But, any time Republicans bicker among themselves, Dems smile, and the Leftist media machine has more ammo to try to control the next news cycle.
I fully expect to hear some comments from Ted Cruz to follow shortly, as the contest between he and Paul for the direction of the GOP continues. I also expect those comments to be mischaracterized, as media shills continue to try and deflect the public’s attention away from President Obama’s signature achievement.
Stranger things have happened, I know.
*aka Obamacare

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
…do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again;
The video which follows was produced in Thailand, “The Land of the Free.”
If I ever needed evidence of “that which may be known of God is manifest in them,” it is presented here.
Certainly, the Spirit of the Gospel is alive and well in southeast Asia.
The video is poignant, thought-provoking, and extremely well-made. Enjoy.

Sharks are about as useful as rats, but they are far more entertaining.
I’ll never forget a visit I made to Manila back in 1974. The huge open market was buzzing with the knowledge that an enormous great white shark had been caught and was being brought to the market.
The crowd was huge and most were eagerly waiting for a chance to buy some of the meat. As the shark was hoisted up by its tail the enormity of the fish was amazing. Then a man stepped up with a sharp knife and gutted it. The contents of its stomach came flooding out, including obvious remnants of a human.
The crowd gasped and quickly dispersed. I don’t know if they sold any of that meat that day.
I still laugh about that event to this day.

I began to learn a little about Marco Rubio during the 2008 Florida Primary, when as an influential state legislator, Rubio endorsed Mike Huckabee for President. The more I got to know about Rubio, the more impressed I became.
I also recall a good interview of Rubio by K-Lo over at NRO, shortly before Rick Santelli’s famous rant on CNBC. That rant gave rise to the tea party movement.
Maybe Rubio was just the right guy at the right time. But, not long after that, the groundswell for a Marco Rubio candidacy to oppose the “inevitable” nomination of Charlie Crist began to grow.
Last night’s victory speech for Senator-elect Rubio was outstanding. It is a real pleasure to present it to you.

I wonder if Billy Ayers is willing to apply his same definition of terrorism to the Times Square wannabe bomber..
William Ayers says his organization, the Weather Underground, was not a terrorist organization because they never “killed people.”
Neither did the Times Square Jihadi. Or the Detroit Underwear Bomber… or even Richard Reid, for that matter..
