It’s the TRUMPazoid

I like Donald Trump. I don’t know if I will vote for him, undecided at this point. Still, his favorability rating with me is definitedly postitive.

I thought this was funny.

You have your “Bushies”, your “Clintonistas”, your “Paulians”, and now, your “TRUMPazoids!”

So many scandals, so little time

ibd.cartoon

IBD has captured 10 of Obama’s scandals in this cartoon, but what about these?

The AP wiretapping, targeting James Rosen of Fox News, Seal Team 6, NSA wiretapping program, The Porkulus wasteful spending, and dozens of subsequent bankruptcies, Drawing Red Lines about Syria’s use of chemical weapons, then saying he didn’t say that.

I could go on, the the fact is, there are so many that we have forgotten about.  Not because they weren’t serious missteps or breeches of the public trust, but because there are just too damn many to keep up with.

The Latest Scandal™ is the continuing mishandling of the Ebola problem.  The consequences may be too horrible to contemplate.  Several of the Prepper websites that I scan have stated that this may be your last opportunity to get your plan and your preparations in order.

Hope for the best.  Prepare for the worst.  In Obamaworld, definitely prepare for the worst.

Bundy, Benghazi, and the Border

“If the government had sent snipers and 200 armed personnel to Bengazhi, we would not have four dead Americans, and the perpetrators still roaming free.

Funny, but they are willing to make a stand against citizens, but not against terrorists.”

Immigration agents: “Brace Youreselves”

On Wednesday, ICE Union president Chris Crane told PRNewswire: “Any American concerned about immigration needs to brace themselves for what’s coming. This is just one of many new ICE policies in queue aimed at stopping the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws in the United States. Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the Administration is now implementing it through agency policy.”

Crane continued: “ICE and the Administration have excluded our union and our agents from the entire process of developing policies, it was all kept secret from us, we found out from the newspapers. ICE worked hand-in-hand with immigrants rights groups, but excluded its own officers.”  source

Obama has bypassed the Congress with his refusal to enforce immigration law.  It’s a pattern of behavior that must be stopped.

Border security.  It is an idea that receives overwhelming public support.  It’s another of those issues that Obama is on the short end of the 30-70 split.   Strangely enough, we here nothing at all from Congressional Republicans.  I suppose, they are waiting on the momentum of the Tea Party to solve the problem in November.  They are nearly as worthless as the democrats.

Obama delenda est.

Brian Terry: 1970-2010. A True American Hero

Our son didn’t have to die.

Authorized by the Terry Family

It has been nearly 19 months since our son, Brian Terry, was shot and killed by a Mexican drug cartel armed by a failed U.S. Department of Justice “gunwalking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.” Much has transpired during that time – especially in the last few months – regarding the investigation of Brian’s death. But not enough has been done, which is why we are writing to you today.

The pain that Brian’s death has caused our family is indescribable. No matter what words we use in this letter to you, we will never be able to justly convey how much suffering we have endured. We still grieve every day, and we are resigned to the fact that the agony of his death will stick with us for the rest of our lives. Not because he didn’t achieve his dreams . . . not because he didn’t live his life to the fullest . . . and not because he didn’t leave anything behind that we couldn’t celebrate or remember.

Our family will be forever grief-stricken because Brian didn’t have to die.

We wish we could take solace knowing that Brian died doing what he loved to do. After all, it was his childhood dream to make a career in law enforcement and become a federal agent.

The Promise of America

from the Hattiesburg American

Daniel Alejandro McGregor of Peru, Mitchell Njeri Panniell of Kenya, Aaron Paul Nikko Fajardo Carlos of the Philippines, and Paavan Singh Nagi of India, all currently serving in the US Navy, and Edgar Ramon Leon of Mexico, Air Force, along with 15 others from 11 different nations took the oath of citizenship yesterday in the U.S. District Court, Hattiesburg, MS.

“In applying for U.S. citizenship, these applicants seek what is, without a doubt, the greatest status any nation can bestow upon them,” said US Atty Steve Graben.

This is immigration done the right way. As Judge Mike Parker said, “This is the promise of America.”

Napolitano on acid?

Janet Napolitano has made the claim that the southern border with Mexico is secure and that US  border towns are safe.  According to Napolitano, security “is better now than it ever has been.”

No kidding.  She really said that.

What a f’ing idiot.

Bush commutes Compean and Ramos

Breaking. President Bush commutes sentences for Border Agents Compean and Ramos!

ramoscompeanadThis is very good news for Americans who have argued that Compean and Ramos should have never been convicted in the first place. It is also wonderful news for the families.

Fox News is reporting that that the men are scheduled for release on March 20.

Mr. Bush could have given the agents a full pardon, but chose instead to commute the sentences. AP reports that according to a “senior admnistration official”…

Mr. Bush “believed they were excessive and that they had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations.

The action by the president, who believes the border agents received fair trials and that the verdicts were just, does not diminish the seriousness of their crimes, the official said.

Sen. Cornyn requests pardon for Ramos and Compean

A Plea to President Bush:

More than two years after they were sentenced, former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean still sit in federal prison for their actions in attempting to apprehend a drug runner who was smuggling 743 pounds of marijuana valued at $1.2 million from Mexico into the United States.

To protect them from prison gangs eager to attack law enforcement officers, the Bureau of Prisons keeps the two agents separate from the general prison population. Today, Ramos and Compean sit in solitary cells in Phoenix, and Elkton, Ohio, respectively, hundreds of miles from their homes and families in Texas.

Because of the excesses of the prosecution against them, they will continue to sit alone in those cells for another decade. That is unless President Bush commutes their unjust sentences. In his remaining days as President, I ask President Bush to show mercy and use his clemency power to give back Agents Ramos and Compean the next 10 years of their lives.

Along with U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, I have written two letters to the President urging commutation—and have spoken publicly many more times on this injustice.

Law enforcement officers hold a special place in our society. Those with authority to investigate and incarcerate others possess enormous power. But, like their fellow citizens, law enforcement officers must be held accountable when they act outside the law—and must be treated no better and no worse if prosecuted for a crime. While a jury of their peers found that Ramos and Compean exceeded the authority entrusted to them, I have reached the conclusion as a Senator, a former judge, and a citizen, that the loss of their jobs and the prison time they have already served has been more than enough punishment.

Time is short, Mr. President. Please do the right thing. Free Ramos and Compean.

Pardon Ramos and Compean

Only one week remains for President Bush to do the right thing for imprisoned Border Patrol officers Ramos and Compean.

It’s time, Mr. President. Free these men. Pardon them, or commute their sentences to time served.

Will border security get the attention it deserves?

There is a war going on in Mexico. It is being felt on both sides of the border. Mexican forces are not only hunting drug cartel leaders, but also going after their hired muscle, like the Zetas, who terrorize the towns they control.

From NYTimes

…[Mexican] troops, along with thousands of federal agents, have begun putting pressure on drug gangs, the midlevel mobsters and hit men have put up a surprising amount of resistance. Again and again, they have chosen to fight it out rather than surrender.

They have ambushed and killed more than 20 police officers this year. In the past two weeks, four federal agents and three Baja California police commanders have been assassinated, along with the wife and child of one of them, apparently in retaliation for arrests, law enforcement officials said.

That violence has spread to the United States. On Saturday morning, drug-smuggling suspects from Mexico killed an American border patrol agent, Luis Aguilar, 32, when he tried to stop their cars in sand dunes about 20 miles west of Yuma, Ariz., then fled back across the border. Michael Chertoff, the homeland security secretary, said the killing demonstrated how Mexican criminal organizations had responded to the crackdown on their operations with increasing brutality.

“The Zetas are defying the state,” said Jorge Chabat, an expert on narcotics trafficking and security at CIDE, a Mexican research group. “This operation in the north of Mexico in recent days has no precedent.”

Friday Free Speech

You’ve heard the story out of Newark…..

carranza.jpgThree friends were forced to kneel against a wall behind an elementary school and were shot to death at close range, and a fourth was found about 30 feet away with gunshot and knife wounds to her head, police said….

An arrest has been made. Jose Carranza, 28, an illegal immigrant, with a rap sheet a mile long.  His plea?  “not guilty,” of course.  So give him a fair trial, then crank up ol’ sparky.

This is the World Famous Friday Open Thread–A Free Speech Zone.

A Few Words From Newt, On Our Own Phoney War!

I am always impressed with his brilliant mind.

Human smuggling operation investigated

I don’t know where Brian Ross gets his stuff, but the ABC Blotter has been on top of several big stories lately. Kuddos.

The FBI is investigating an alleged human smuggling operation based in Chaparral, N.M., that agents say is bringing “Iraqis and other Middle Eastern” individuals across the Rio Grande from Mexico.

An FBI intelligence report distributed by the Washington, D.C. Joint Terrorism Task Force, obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com, says the illegal ring has been bringing Iraqis across the border illegally for more than a year.

Border Patrol officials in the area said they were unaware of the specifics of the FBI’s report, and federal prosecutors in New Mexico told ABCNews.com they had no current cases involving the illegal smuggling of Iraqis.

The FBI report, issued last week, says the smuggling organization “used to smuggle Mexicans, but decided to smuggle Iraqi or other Middle Eastern individuals because it was more lucrative.” Each individual would be charged a fee of $20,000 to $25,000, according to the report. Read More–>>

All the more reason to get rid of Johhny Sutton, the US Atty who is more intent on jailing border agents and law enforcement personnel than he is in supporting effective border control policy. You may remember this from a few weeks ago…

In the last six months, agents along the Southwest border caught 15 people from Iran, 35 from Pakistan, 12 from Jordan, two from Syria and five from Lebanon. Conservatives have been deeply disappointed with the Administration’s half-hearted efforts to provide Border Security. We’ve also been more than just a little puzzled with the actions of US Attorney Johnny Sutton, whose over-zealous prosecution of Border Agents has led to the controversial imprisonment of Agents Compean and Ramos, and the prosecution of a Sheriff’s Deputy, while protecting dope dealers and illegal immigrants.

On a related matter, Rep. Duncan Hunter is renewing his call for Border Agents Compean and Ramos to receive a pardon. I agree 100%.

Hunter, a 2008 GOP presidential hopeful, said the prosecution of Ramos and Compean is a “great injustice,” adding that their case “called out for a pardon or commutation.”

Last October, U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Cardone in El Paso, Texas, sentenced Compean to 12 years in prison and Ramos to 11 years and one day — despite a plea by their attorney for a new trial after three jurors said they were coerced into voting guilty in the case.

The two agents were convicted of firing at and wounding a reportedly unarmed illegal immigrant near Fabens, Texas. The illegal was suspected of drug smuggling and was granted immunity by federal prosecutors in exchange for his testimony against the agents.

Update: I just watched Sutton on Hannity and Colmes. Sutton needs to go. If Bush wanted to rally his base, all he would have to do is fire Sutton and pardon the border agents. His stock would go up several points overnight.
