Still think the establishment GOP is your friend?

A Guest Post by Dick Bachert

I’ve posted this around the net a number of times and do so again inasmuch as THIS is a constantly recurring problem and some may not grasp how widespread it is. And now that the RNC has OPENLY declared war on the TEA Party, it should be clear to all why I have for a few decades cautioned my many friends to NOT SEND THE RNC A NICKLE.

frayedOver the years – when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger man’s clothes – I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) – because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larry’s record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the Pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mother’s cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name – and his incredible resolve and love of this country.) How ironic that he, like General Patton, was also assassinated by the communists they both despised. It was my honor to introduce Larry at his last public speech in the district before that ill-fated KAL007 flight!

Those other candidates ran as Republicans and each had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club Pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes. I served as treasurer for several and in other capacities for more.

As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local Pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign “professionals” ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.

Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these “professionals” proceeded to TORPEDO our guy’s campaign in subtle but effective ways.

From that experience I can tell you that the Pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.

nacho friendIf YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2014 and beyond – and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they want to send you no-strings cash for your campaign, take it. If, however, they “suggest” sending in one of their “professionals,” tell them to fuggetaboutit.

They ARE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!!!!

sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to
discourage and restrain it.” G. Washington

(BTW, My genealogical research informs me that my 5th great-grandfather, one John Carpenter, was one of George Washington’s Virginia neighbors and fought with GW in the French and Indian War and the Revolution. Prior to that, John traveled with GW during his survey of the Northwest Territories.)

Guess who’s coming to dinner

The much ballyhooed Obama “jobs summit” is remarkable not only for who is invited to participate, but also who is being excluded.

Notable for being excluded from the gathering are representatives from the US Chamber of Commerce, and the National Federation of Independent Business, as well as anyone who has been publicly critical of the Administration’s sweeping plans to overhaul of the healthcare system. As reported in the Times, several analysts say the summit will be packed only with Obama supporters, and lacks any diversity of opinion.

The summit will however be attended by representatives from Big Labor, including the SEIU and ACORN-connected group “Change To Win.” SEIU and Change to Win were named in the Illinois Rod Blagojevich Scandal, and have extensive ties to ACORN.

ACORN has been completely exposed as a corrupt, criminal enterprise, worthy of RICO prosecution. President Obama’s continued support is indefensible.

Both SEIU and Change to Win have no place in a serious discussion on job creation. Their very existence, as well as their dependence upon the government teat makes them both incapable and uninterested in supporting policies which promote private sector growth.

The incompetence of the Obama Administration continues.

Update: Note to NY Times — Describing ACORN as a “beleaguered anti-poverty group” is a bit like describing al qaeda as a “controversial islamic rights group.” I suggest you check out Breitbart’s Big Government website and get a better handle on the situation.

Coverup! LA Times suppresses incriminating obama video

Update: Any good sleight-of-hand requires a small distraction in order for the illusion to be successful. So it has become with the Rashid Khalidi story. Attempting to distract concerned voters from the attention given to Obama’s close friendship with the former PLO spokesman, 0-bot operatives have fanned out across the web to put forth the narrative that this is no big deal, because McCain was responsible for giving Khalidi’s group money through his chaimanship of the IRI. The exact quote of the 0-bot narrative has now appeared on the internet some 534 times (and climbing).

The distraction ignores the salient fact: McCain is a known quantity. Obama is not. The American People know John McCain: his military career, his legislative career, and his unquestioned love of country. The same is not known about the Democrat nominee. Obama’s past is opacity defined, and the people have a right to know much more about this man than has been gleaned from a media widely viewed as being “in the tank for Obama.” …………..

end of update

from LAT:

John McCain’s presidential campaign Tuesday accused the Los Angeles Times of “intentionally suppressing” a videotape it obtained of a 2003 banquet where then-state Sen. Barack Obama spoke of his friendship with Rashid Khalidi, a leading Palestinian scholar and activist.

The Times first reported on the videotape in an April 2008 story about Obama’s ties with Palestinians and Jews as he navigated the politics of Chicago. The report included a detailed description of the tape, but the newspaper did not make the video public.

The Times is now claiming that they promised a source not to release the 2003 video … funny how they have waited so long to make this piece of information public.

The entire matter smacks of a Watergate-style coverup of the highest order. The LA Times is on the wrong side of this issue because the public’s right to know the truth is the sole purpose of press freedom. This is crucial evidence in the court of public opinion, and to deny the American People the opportunity to view the actual smoking gun evidence is inexcusable.

Release the tape
