Mid Term Election Returns:Not Everyone Is Happy

Rubio’s Victory Speech A Real Stemwinder

I began to learn a little about Marco Rubio during the 2008 Florida Primary, when as an influential state legislator, Rubio endorsed Mike Huckabee for President. The more I got to know about Rubio, the more impressed I became.

I also recall a good interview of Rubio by K-Lo over at NRO, shortly before Rick Santelli’s famous rant on CNBC. That rant gave rise to the tea party movement.

Maybe Rubio was just the right guy at the right time. But, not long after that, the groundswell for a Marco Rubio candidacy to oppose the “inevitable” nomination of Charlie Crist began to grow.

Last night’s victory speech for Senator-elect Rubio was outstanding. It is a real pleasure to present it to you.

CBS reporters “corrupt bastards”

“CBS reporters in the affiliate up there in Alaska, on tape are saying let’s find a child molester in the crowd as a supporter for Joe Miller, let’s blast that. Let’s concoct a [Rand] Paul moment there, let’s find any kind of chaos so that we can tweet an alert saying “ooh, there’s chaos. Joe Miller got punched, or vice [versa].” That’s sick. Those are corrupt bastards, Chris.” … Sarah Palin: 10/31/10 Fox News Sunday

The Miller campaign blasted out an e-mail overnight containing a transcript and audio recording of what it claimed were reporters at CBS affiliate KTVA discussing story ideas. The conversation, according to the Miller campaign, was recorded on spokesman Randy DeSoto’s voicemail apparently by accident after an assignment editor with the station called him and mistakenly left his phone on instead of hanging up.

KTVA confirmed the authenticity of the tape Sunday but rejected as “absurd” the suggestion that reporters were trying to “fabricate” a negative story about Miller. link

Oh. Well, naturally.

No longer content with being “fake but accurate,” CBS has now become “accurate but untrue.”

Meet Delaware’s Chris Coons

Christine O’Donnell’s opponent in the November general election is well known to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid …

“I’m going to be very honest with you — Chris Coons, everybody knows him in the Democratic caucus. He’s my pet. He’s my favorite candidate,”

Now that’s funny — I don’t care who you are.

LTC. Allan West: Honor And Integrity Apply To Him, Not His Opponent

If for some reason you aren’t familiar with LTC. Allan West(ret.), it is time you were.

This gentleman was first put in our nation’s spotlight in 2003, after being relieved of his command with 2nd Battalion 20th Field Artillery. LTC. West had physically assaulted an Iraqi policeman, firing his side arm into a barrel near the detainee and threatened to kill him. The detainee then revealed information about a planned ambush on his convoy. From that time in late August until October 2003 when LTC. West was relieved of his command, there were no further ambushes on U.S. forces in Taji.

When later asked at a hearing by a defense attorney if he would repeat that action, given the circumstances,
LTC. West replied:

“If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.”

That is the quality of character this man possesses. It is further reflected by ninety five members of Congress signing a letter in support of LTC. West to the Secretary of the Army.

Two videos from a recent town hall meeting, where he is in a very tight race for Florida’s District 22 House race.
Notice the comfort and sincerity in dealing with a questioner and how the audience responds to him.

Currently, the House seat he is running for is considered a toss up. The most recent poll taken several months ago had West leading by two points.

Now, his opponent wants to roll in the mud.

A charity gala scheduled for September, the South Florida Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, had extended an invitation for LTC. West and his wife, Angela, to be honored as South Florida Finest Couple.
That invitation hasn’t been rescinded, instead an executive with the CFF has asked LTC. West to “withdraw” from the event.
A more cowardly act couldn’t be imagined.
The entire story is found at WND.

Knowing what honor and integrity mean; knowing that doing the right thing often has consequences, I can only imagine the anger and frustration LTC. West must have felt when he received that disgraceful phone call.

If LTC. West needed any further evidence, as to how low down and dirty his jackass opponent would play, he certainly knows now.

I’m confident LTC. West is man enough for the challenge and I sincerely hope the voters in Florida can clearly see the high quality candidate he is, versus the low quality of character his Øbummer supporting opponent has.

It’s only one hundred and one days until the mid-term election. Still plenty of time for the left to continue to show us how unfit for high office they truly are, and for us to vote them out for great candidates like LTC. West.

Evan Bayh (D-IN) not seeking re-election

In a surprise announcement, Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana has stated that he will not seek re-election.

His departure is a body-blow to Democrats.

The seat was considered safe for the Democrats, but is now in play.

Sarah Palin:Feared And Fearless!

gallup palin

This Gallup poll was released a few days ago, and from my perspective, it didn’t receive the attention it deserved, particularly the info in the above graphic.

For those who fear Sarah Palin, or are terrified of her, as well as being jealous, this is not the direction their persistent assaults on her and her family is intended. Interestingly, the notion she is not sophisticated enough, or experienced enough, comes from the same people who support/ed our current resident of the White House, the most incompetent, unqualified, least experienced, and least known person to ever hold this office.

In a Washington Post Op-Ed, Sarah Palin lays waste to the “Cap and Trade” legislation the House passed.

Can America produce more of its own energy through strategic investments that protect the environment, revive our economy and secure our nation?

Yes, we can. Just not with Barack Obama’s energy cap-and-tax plan.

This piece by Gov. Palin could not go without challenge, from the George Soros cabal. Who did they trot out first to challenge/impugn her? As humorous a choice as possible, Sen. John Kerry.

MoveOn.org began e-mailing members Tuesday, asking them to fund a rapid response ad blasting Palin’s op-ed. Soros’ group said Palin was positioning herself as the face of conservative opposition to Obama’s energy policy, telling supporters her op-ed was “a marvel of misinformation and outright lies.”

That last quote is more accurately applied to the Soros cabal, and the numerous prevaricators on his pay roll.

Then there were others who decided to weigh in on her Op-Ed, as indicated by this posting at Conservatives4Palin.

As could be expected, Governor Palin’s common sense assault on this huge government intrusion into the private sector stirred a hornet’s nest of panic among the liberals and their allies in the mainstream media. Conor Clarke of The Atlantic immediately responded, as if on cue, with an incoherent attack which was promptly and thoroughly debunked by Rob Harrison. Even one of the bill’s sponsors, Representative Ed Markey (D., Mass.), felt compelled to respond in The Daily Beast and, as with Mr. Clarke, his misinformed tirade was quickly taken apart, this time by R.A. Mansour.

Rush Limbaugh did weigh in on the Gallup poll with his commentary on 16 July, and as is his custom, cuts through the fog and finds the substance of the issue.
Wake Up, GOP! Liberals Fear Sarah Palin Because the Voters Love Her.

She has 72% approval in Palin in the Gallup poll. Political gurus and pundits — these yapping yammerers all over TV; Palin trashers in the Republican Party; the sordid, looking-down-the-nose, low-wattage elitists — you might call the office here to figure out what’s going on. This is not going to sit well with the elites in the Republican Party, the country club, blue-blood, Rockefeller Republicans. They don’t like her nearly as much as the Democrats don’t like her, but I think this is huge: 72% after a year in which she has been a target of literal political destruction. Folks, I’m just telling you: If there are any of you wimpy, wishy-washy Republicans out there who so desperately want to have a candidate that the sophisticates in the media in Washington and New York approve of, you are guaranteed to secure the Republican Party defeat after defeat after defeat. If you’re going to let them pick our nominee — which happened last time, by the way.

To further illustrate her ascendant favorable polling, despite the vicious attacks on her, I found this info at the Governor Palin 4 President blog.

It is nice to see Sarah Pac advertising on the Drudge Report. Especially since Drudge Report has often been in the top twenty visited sites in the world. In 4 months Sarah Pac brought in just under $800,000 and all of the donations were in small amounts. This is great news because it demonstrates Governor Palin has large grassroots support (unlike Romney).

Since July 3rd, donations have increased 100 fold, in 3 weeks, nearly doubling the total nearly meeting Romney’s $1.6 million. What is most encouraging for Governor Palin & Sarah Pac is the number of supporters more than triples Ronmey’s which in the end equals more votes, a much larger base and a huge grassroots campaign already in-place & nationwide.

That info reinforces the Gallup poll findings in more than an anecdotal manner. Yet, the LameStreamMedia, if it mentions Gov. Palin at all, does so with condescending and derisive reporting. Their frustration at not being able to influence more to their scripted plan of destruction must be excruciatingly painful.

The fear and loathing, while most pronounced on the left, is not to be overlooked on the self-anointed GOP elites. Victor Davis Hanson had an excellent piece last week, that has since been posted at several different sources.
Why the Elitist Hatred Toward Palin?

In short, if Palin is a “nutty puppy,” these Washington and New York insiders are a deranged pack of rabid dogs. Why, though, the venom?

An excellent question, to which he supplies numerous explanations.

Another example of the self-anointed elites disdain for Gov. Palin comes from an article at American Thinker concerning one Peggy Noonan, and in my opinion, is as accurate a description of the D.C.-NY “yammerers” as any I’ve read, and one that makes me chuckle, each time I read it.
Peggy Noonan: Sarah Palin Jealous!

You’re Peggy Noonan and you’re jealous. You don’t understand it. Sure, maybe she has accomplished a few things (like the $26 billion dollar natural gas pipeline deal, restructuring Alaskan government, and taking an ice pick to corrupt politicians). But she has no style, no pizzazz — she just does stuff. But so do you — and you can’t understand why you don’t get the same adoration. After all, didn’t you go before the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission and not just protest, but elegantly protest — so said The New York Times — a 16-story tower a developer wanted to build in your ritzy Upper East Side Manhattan neighborhood? Sarah Palin wouldn’t have done that; she’s not brilliant enough to understand preservation. She probably would have looked at the jobs the construction would create and given it a déclassé “Hell yeah!”

There is more that can be gleaned from the Gallup poll, as well as others, but suffice it to say she is a political force that cannot be easily disposed of by the self-anointed elites, right or left, and it is their chagrin that I pleasure in.
You go, Super Sarah!!

Finally, a few words from Jackie Mason on the most popular Governor in America, and the fear that they reveal.

The Ad Liberals Don’t Want To See!

From The Freedom Post, this video is called the ad that is “driving liberals nuts.” I think they are being kind. To me, it is the ad that will make them even nuttier, if they see it.

The current administration likened to that of the Islamic Republic of Iran?
That’s going to leave a mark.

Marco Rubio: The Republican wing of the Republican Party

NRO’s David Freddoso interviews Florida’s Marco Rubio, who is set to challenge Charlie Crist for the US Senate.  Here is an excerpt:

FREDDOSO: Give me an example of that, showing a contrast between yourself and Governor Crist.

RUBIO: Quite frankly, you could say it’s a contrast between myself and the direction of the national Republican movement at this moment in our history, by and large, especially here in Washington, D.C. One example is term limits — we should be the party of term limits. We should be the party that says it’s not natural for any human being to serve more than half his adult life in the U.S. Congress.

We should be the party of the balanced-budget amendment — of the notion that we should not spend money we do not have. We should admit once and for all that Republicans are just as guilty as Democrats . . . in spending money we don’t have.

We should be the party of tax reform. We’re constantly talking about tax cuts and their importance, but tax reform is even better. Change our system of taxation, whether it’s a Fair Tax or a Flat Tax. Boldly propose changes to our tax system so that once again we have a country where we’re not encouraging companies to shift jobs overseas — where the tax implications of creating jobs in America are not negative, the tax implications of building things in America aren’t negative.

Rubio is a fine example of the depth of the conservative bench at the state level.  He combines fiscal conservatism with traditional conservative values in a way that makes him a very compelling candidate.  To borrow a phrase that was said back in 2004, Rubio represents the Republican wing of the Republican Party.

Even though the establishment Republicans are backing a popular governor in Charlie Crist, or maybe even because of their endorsement, my gut tells me that this will be a much closer race than the establishment folks are counting on.

Freddoso’s interview is excellent.  Read it all!

What Say You, Thomas Paine?

Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer.
Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776

OBAMA WORRIED ABOUT THE 2ND AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!!

Pat Toomey: Opportunist to the rescue

Pat Toomey hints he might mount a primary challenge to Arlen Specter in 2010.

I can’t wait.

So, why would this self-serving prick leave his cush meal ticket as Club for Growth president to run for the Senate?

I guess he’s just bored.

C’mon Pat.  The water’s fine.  Jump on in.

Accomplishments of Pat Toomey:  I can’t find any.  Even Wikipedia has nothing to brag about, except that he served 3 terms in the House and ran (and lost) against Specter in ’04.

You would probably have more luck in searching for French military victories
