Abdullah al-Muhajir not a familiar name to you? His muslim name has been suppressed, for some reason. This is none other than the “dirty bomber” Jose Padilla.
MIAMI – Jose Padilla, once accused of plotting with to blow up a radioactive “dirty bomb,” was sentenced Tuesday to 17 years and four months on terrorism conspiracy charges that don’t mention those initial allegations.
The sentence imposed by U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke marks another step in the extraordinary personal and legal odyssey for the 37-year-old Muslim convert, a U.S. citizen who was held for 3 1/2 years as an enemy combatant after his 2002 arrest amid the “dirty bomb” allegations. He had faced up to life in prison.
Cooke said she was giving Padilla some credit — over the objections of federal prosecutors — for his lengthy military detention at a Navy brig in South Carolina. She agreed with defense lawyers that Padilla was subjected to “harsh conditions” and “extreme environmental stresses” while there.
Extreme environmental stresses? Please. Cry me a river.

Another one bites the dust!
Boo-freakin’ -hoo!
I’d be curious what the details are on the “harsh conditions” and “extreme environmental stresses”.
I hope he’s in with the general population. Maybe then he can be subjected to
Just heard on Foxnews, Thompson is dropping out. Hot Air will be crushed. 😉

Looks like the lights on here, but nobody’s home. 😕 check in later…..
Well, I’m disappointed. There is no other candidate that is as supportive of state and individual rights and limits on federal government as Fred, who was also quite aware of the need to track down and kill terrorists.
But, I also figured this was coming, so I didn’t do early voting yet.
At this point, I have to say that I really like the idea of Giuliani’s tax cuts, while SwampMan is probably going to throw his support to Romney.
I’ll vote GOP and hope to hell it’s not McCain. Paul doesn’t have a shot.
Geeze nuke, I thought you might have an opinion on Fred dropping out.
nevermind…..i see ya was busy….. 🙂
With Fred gone, I’m strictly with Mike, though I will vote for the winner…with the exception of McCain and Paul.
I think we all knew, some where in the depths of our minds, that it would come back to who has the money. Not only the money to win the primaries, but the big one as well, as the donks won’t be accepting matching funds.
/at least in the back of my mind
Oh, as for Padilla…buh-bye! Don’t let your cell door, or your cellmate, hit you in the arse.
Hope he gets Colorado Supermax.
I would like to support Huckabee, but his remarks on national security left me pretty cold (not to mention that lil’ ol’ Castro thing).
Yeah, his inexperience on national security and foreign affairs is a concern for me too, but I don’t see the others having an advantage either.
Only Rudy and Mike have a record of good governance and tax cutting.
Only Mike has a good record on being pro-gun, pro-family, and pro-life.
And only Mike has signed a pledge with Numbers USA on controlling illegal immigration, as well as having Jim Gilchrist’s endorsement.
Still, Romney has the money, and since the GWOT is going well enough to remain off of the front pages, the economy is the biggest issue we face, and Romney does have a record of good business sense.
No perfect candidate this go round.
The war continuing to go well depends on somebody willing to aggressively prosecute it. *sigh*
Rudy, also, seems to have some pretty good business sense but Romney knows the private sector very well indeed.
Just did some checking, and there are four sanctuary cities in Mass., so is New York City, but there are no sanctuary cities in Arkansas.
