Christ is Risen. Easter Sunday 2013

The most holy day of the Christian calendar, Easter Sunday, is the day that is celebrated to mark the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. But not at Google. No, at Google, this isn’t Easter Sunday. It is Caesar Chavez’s 86th birthday.

 

Contrast this with Bing, a large display of Easter Eggs.  Google has been my default search engine for years.  To “google” something is understood to mean to search for somthing on the web.

I think I’m going to change the default setting on my personal laptop to Bing.  Couldn’t hurt.  Plus, they have more respect for my faith than google does.

Obama cures cancer!

Well, you just know the sycophantic media will find a way to give credit to him …

“Researchers might have found the Holy Grail in the war against cancer, a miracle drug that has killed every kind of cancer tumor it has come in contact with, the New York Post reported.

The drug works by blocking a protein called CD47 that is essentially a “do not eat” signal to the body’s immune system, according to Science Magazine.

This protein is produced in healthy blood cells, but researchers at Stanford University found that cancer cells produced an inordinate amount of the protein thus tricking the immune system into not destroying the harmful cells.

With this observation in mind, the researchers built an antibody that blocked cancer’s CD47 so that the body’s immune system attacked the dangerous cells.

So far, researchers have used the antibody in mice with human breast, ovary, colon, bladder, brain, liver and prostate tumors transplanted into them. In each of the cases the antibody forced the mice’s immune system to kill the cancer cells.

Toy Soldiers, Cowboys, and Paratroopers

The liberals have completely lost it where guns are concerned.

Pop-Tarts eaten to form the crude shape of  hand gun,  a “bubble gun” causing a student expulsion, the hand-drawing of  a  gun getting a student suspended and ordered to undergo psychological counseling, pretend gun fingers, anything at all to do with firearms is causing unreasonable fear and loathing from the left.

It’s nutty, and getting nuttier.

Anyway, I was picking up some groceries yesterday at the Piggly Wiggly, and I noticed some interesting toys in the dollar bin.  I thought I would pick some up for my grandsons before they are outlawed.  I had all of these toys as a boy and so did my sons. I hope my grandsons will enjoy them as much as I did.

And, on a another note, this is an open memo to Colt, Beretta, Magpul, and other firearms manufacturers that are being treated as  undesireables in their home states.  PLEASE consider moving your operations to southwest Mississippi.  We have an abundance of willing workers who would love an opportunity to work for your fine companies.  We’ve got great music, unbelievably good barbeque, plus, you won’t find a more gun-friendly state in these United States.  Also, the cost of living is resonable.  Land is cheap, water is plentiful, transportation is ready and available; and, the simple fact of the matter is this:

WE WANT YOU  HERE!

R.I.P. Steve Davis~Sooner Nation Mourns

While the official announcement hasn’t yet been made, it is clear from one family member, his nephew, that he did indeed die in a plane crash in South Bend, Indiana.

My family just called. I can confirm that Steve Davis was one of the people that died in the #Indiana plane crash. RIP. You will be missed.

Until late in the 2012 season, Steve Davis had held the record for most wins as an OU quarterback, his record in the three seasons he started was 32-1-1 with two national championship titles. Those three years were also the first three years of Barry Switzer’s legendary coaching career.

One wonderful story I read about Davis was about the 1976 Orange Bowl with Michigan. He had been asked to give the Orange Bowl invocation and as he began the PA announcer informed the Orange Bowl crowd that Ohio State had just lost to UCLA. The crowd erupted into wild cheers, as they knew the winner of the Orange Bowl would be the National Champions. Despite this knowledge and being the starting QB for OU, Steve calmly waited for the noise to subside then stated…”Lets begin again.”

May God Bless Steve Davis’ family and loved one’s in this sorrow filled time, he was truly a good man and faithful servant to our Lord. He will be missed by many, many people; for those who only knew him as a football player and by those who knew him for the wonderful person he was.

The things that football teaches, you can never learn in a classroom or any other environment. Teamwork, cooperation, setting goals, dedication, perseverance.
